Summary
A 16-inch 2.5K IPS portable monitor for laptop users who want more vertical workspace on the road. Check the brightness before buying: the US spec rates 350 nits and independent testing measured about 365.3 nits, well below the 500-nit figure some listings still show.
Strengths
- Sharp 2560x1600 panel at 188 ppi with measured 100% sRGB and 94% DCI-P3.
- The 16:10 frame gives more vertical workspace than a 16:9 panel.
- Strong anti-glare finish works well near windows and overhead lights.
- Sturdy metal frame with a kickstand for landscape or portrait.
- Two full-function USB-C ports plus Mini HDMI cover most laptops.
- Light enough to slip into a bag at about 1.8 lb.
Weaknesses
- HDR is poor: enabling it drops color coverage to 61.9% DCI-P3 and brightness below 300 nits.
- Brightness falls well short of the 500-nit figure some listings still show.
- The white point runs cold at 8,100K at maximum brightness, which can strain eyes.
- Default color is usable but needs calibration for professional work.
- USB-C detection is picky; some laptops need a separate power cable.
- The 1 W speakers are thin and no substitute for real audio.

Brightness, color and HDR
CNET’s instrumented test (December 2024) measured 100% sRGB and 94% DCI-P3 coverage, good default accuracy (1.09 DE1976 average), and a peak of 365.3 nits — short of the 500 nits some listings still claim and above the 350 nits ARZOPA lists for the US model. Enabling HDR is a clear step down: coverage falls to 61.9% DCI-P3, brightness drops below 300 nits, and contrast falls to 707:1. The white point runs cold at 8,100K at maximum brightness, and one profile showed a high average error of 8.29 DE1976, so color work needs a calibration pass.
Ports and setup
Two full-function USB-C ports carry video, data and power delivery, and a Mini HDMI 2.0 input is there for HDMI-only sources. CNET found the USB-C side picky: some laptops with USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports would not detect the display until a separate USB-C power cable was connected. There is no built-in battery, so the monitor needs USB-C power or its own adapter. Portrait orientation is possible through the kickstand, but there are no rubber feet and no angle adjustment.
Is it worth it?
ARZOPA’s US store lists the Z1RC at $149.99, discounted from $199.99 (ARZOPA US, October 2026), and CNET’s December 2024 review put the street price near $120–$124. At $130 or less the combination of 2.5K resolution and 16:10 height is a strong buy for coding and documents; $130–$160 is fair once established brands with better warranty support are in reach; above $160 it only makes sense if you specifically need the 16:10 2.5K panel. ARZOPA’s US page states a 2-year warranty on direct purchases plus an extra 1-year extended warranty after registration, while CNET lists a 12-month panel warranty — confirm the term for your purchase channel.
