Summary
The Beats Powerbeats Fit are workout-focused earbuds that refresh the 2021 Beats Fit Pro with softer wingtips, a smaller case, and an extra ear tip size. The core technology is unchanged, so check whether the fit improvements justify the $200 price for you.
Strengths
- Secure wingtip fit that stays in during running, strength training, and vigorous workouts.
- Wingtips are approximately 20% more flexible, softer, and more durable than the Fit Pro’s.
- Bass-forward sound quality suited to workouts, with good detail for a non-neutral tuning.
- Cross-platform compatibility: native iOS integration via H1 plus a full-featured Beats app for Android.
- Compact, pocketable case that is 17% smaller than the Fit Pro case, now IPX4 splash-proof.
- Physical button controls are reliable and less prone to accidental presses than the Fit Pro’s.
Weaknesses
- No wireless charging at $200, a notable omission at this price.
- H1 chip instead of H2: no Adaptive Audio, Conversation Awareness, live translation, or hearing aid mode.
- No heart rate monitoring, unlike the Powerbeats Pro 2 and AirPods Pro 3.
- Core components (H1 chip, drivers, ANC) are from 2021, making this a refresh rather than a true sequel.
- Battery is not user-replaceable; the earbuds are ultimately disposable.
- Wingtip can cause pressure discomfort on the inner ear after about an hour of continuous wear.

Fit and comfort
The wingtips are the Powerbeats Fit’s defining feature. They are approximately 20% more flexible than the Fit Pro’s, shorter, softer, and more rounded, lacking the hard edge present on the previous generation. The Guardian reviewer found them comfortable during vigorous shaking and rain running but experienced pressure on the left ear after about an hour. An XS ear tip size has been added (four sizes total instead of three), broadening fit compatibility. The case is 17% smaller with a tightened hinge and IPX4 splash-proofing—the Fit Pro case had no IP rating.
Sound and ANC
Sound is bass-forward and energetic, well-suited to workout music, with good detail in the mids and highs for a non-neutral tuning. Spatial audio is “quite impressive” per PCMag. ANC is solid for the price class, reducing low-frequency rumble effectively but letting more mid- and high-frequency noise through than class leaders. Transparency mode is natural and reliable. Call quality is very good for stemless earbuds, though callers may hear more background noise than with AirPods Pro 3. The H1 chip means no Adaptive Audio, Conversation Awareness, or live translation.
Battery and charging
Battery life is up to 7 hours per bud (ANC off) or 6 hours (ANC on), with up to 30 hours total including the case (ANC off) or 24 hours (ANC on). Fast Fuel charging provides 1 hour of playback from 5 minutes of USB-C charging. After one hour per day for a week, the case still held 75% in Engadget’s testing. There is no wireless charging. Apple rates the battery for 500+ charge cycles at 80% capacity but does not provide an expected lifespan. The battery is not user-replaceable; Apple offers battery service and individual replacements for lost or damaged parts.
Is it worth it?
At the $199.99 MSRP, value is weak. CNET says the buds “make a lot more sense—and easier to recommend—at less than $140.” The previous-generation Beats Fit Pro was available for $110 at Woot in June 2025 and is usually $50 less than the Powerbeats Fit. CNN Underscored listed the Powerbeats Fit at $163 at Staples. The AirPods Pro 3 offer better noise cancellation, wireless charging, heart rate monitoring, and a more modern feature set for $179-249 depending on retailer and promotion. The Powerbeats Fit’s advantages are the wingtip secure fit for workouts and slightly longer per-bud battery life (7 vs. 6 hours ANC off).
Which model this is
This page covers the Beats Powerbeats Fit, released in October 2025 as the successor to the Beats Fit Pro (November 2021). Available in Jet Black, Gravel Gray, Spark Orange, Power Pink, and Hyper Purple. The core technology—Apple H1 chip, 9.5 mm drivers, ANC system—is unchanged from the Fit Pro. Don’t confuse it with the Powerbeats Pro 2, which adds heart rate monitoring and other features.
