Summary

A 2.6 lb cordless handheld vacuum for car interiors and quick pickups, with a translucent 605 ml bagless bowl and a washable filter. Check the runtime before you buy: testers and owners get about 10 minutes per charge, and a full recharge takes roughly four hours.

Strengths

  • Light at 2.6 lb, so it is easy to carry around a car or up a ladder.
  • The bagless bowl and washable filter keep running costs near zero.
  • Reaches into gaps with a pull-out crevice tool and a rotating slim nozzle.
  • TechGearLab found it picks up larger dry debris such as oats and cereal.
  • Emptying the translucent bowl is quick and clean.
  • A 2-year limited warranty covers it.

Weaknesses

  • Runtime is short: TechGearLab measured about 10 minutes against an 11-minute claim.
  • Recharges take about 4 hours, so it is often out of action.
  • Fine, statically charged dust beats it; TechGearLab abandoned its flour test after a minute.
  • Pet hair pickup scored lowest of its test categories.
  • Loud in use, measured at 81-83.5 dB.
  • Best for light jobs, not as a primary vacuum or for homes with much carpet.

Runtime and charging

BLACK+DECKER rates the CHV1410L at about 11 minutes of run time on a roughly four-hour charge. Independent testing came in lower: TechGearLab measured about 10 minutes and Lowe’s lists 10.4 minutes, so plan on 10 to 11 minutes of cleaning per charge. That is enough for a car interior or a spill, not for a whole room.

The battery pack is labeled DB144LD, 22Wh, and the charger outputs DC 23V at 400 mA. The pack is not set up for a quick swap, and a Reddit repair thread describes opening it to deal with four lithium-ion cells in series and a failed thermal fuse, so battery service is a bench job for a patient owner.

Cleaning, filters and running costs

The bowl is bagless and translucent, so you can see when it needs emptying, and the filter rinses clean in a sink. There are no bags to buy. The replacement filter is VF110, and the BLACK+DECKER product page for that part lists the CHV1410L as compatible. Beyond a filter and the eventual battery, there is little to spend on.

Noise

BLACK+DECKER’s support page rates the CHV1410L at 81 dB(A), while TechGearLab measured 83.5 dB from arm’s length. That is loud for a handheld and worth knowing if you share walls. The gap probably comes down to how each figure was measured.

Which model this is

This page covers the BLACK+DECKER dustbuster AdvancedClean CHV1410L in white, the 16V MAX* lithium-ion handheld with a 605 ml bowl and the VF110 washable filter, sold as ASIN B006LXOJC0. A closely related listing, the CHV1410L32, is described with different dimensions (7.9 × 14.0 × 5.5 in) and weight (3.5 lb) but the same feature set; it may be a regional or retailer SKU with a different nozzle. The replacement filter is VF110, not the VF110FC that some spec pages show.

Is it worth it?

At under about $50 it is a fair budget tool for a car interior or a quick spill: light, bagless and cheap to run. TechGearLab scored it 51 out of 100, with its weakest marks on dusting and pet hair, so it is a poor choice as a primary vacuum or in a home with pets. BLACK+DECKER’s US site listed it at $49.99 in October 2026, down from a $59.99 compare-at price, and Target, Walmart and Lowe’s showed $49.99 around the same time. Above $70 it is hard to justify.
