Summary
A basic single-temperature 1.7 L stainless kettle with 1500 W heating, built for people who just want fast boiling water and no presets. Check before buying: the single-wall steel body gets hot, and there is no temperature control or keep-warm mode.
Strengths
- Full 1500 W US heating for a 1.7 L fill in a simple single-switch design.
- 304 stainless vessel and housing rather than glass or plastic, with a visible level window.
- Strix thermostat with auto-off and boil-dry protection at a budget price.
- Cordless 360-degree base with cord storage suits either hand and tidy countertops.
- Removable filter and smooth interior make descaling and rinsing easy, with no recurring filter cost.
- A one-year warranty and no consumables to buy.
Weaknesses
- The single-wall steel body gets hot, so the handle is the only intended touch surface.
- No temperature selection, no presets and no keep-warm, so it is wrong for pour-over or tea held at a set temperature.
- Not an all-metal kettle: the handle and base are plastic, and the window and nylon filter are too.
- Low repairability: no replacement-parts catalog and no user-serviceable heater, thermostat or base parts.
- Only a 365-day warranty on an appliance you cannot service.
- Durability signals are mixed: interior rust-like spots, bottom leaking and lid stiffness appear in owner feedback alongside long-lived units, and no failure rate is published.

Boiling speed and the independent test
COMFEE claims 5-7 minutes for a full 1.7 L fill. NoFussDeal’s hands-on test measured 1.7 L from 72 °F to a boil in 6:45, 850 ml in 3:20, a draw of 1480-1510 W, 0.153 kWh per full boil and 58-62 dB at 3 ft, with no safety-system failure across 37 boil cycles. Those figures come from a small affiliate site and were not replicated, but they line up with the manufacturer claim and are the only timed measurements available.
Heat, controls and who it suits
This is a single-temperature kettle. There are no presets, no adjustable temperature and no keep-warm, so it suits tea, coffee, instant food and general hot water rather than pour-over or delicate brewing. The 304 stainless body is single-wall, which means it runs hot to the touch; the handle is the intended contact point. It is also not a zero-plastic kettle: the handle and base are plastic, the window is BPA-free plastic and the filter is nylon.
Maintenance, repairs and running costs
Routine upkeep is descaling and rinsing the interior and the removable filter. Hard water leaves mineral deposits that can look like rust, so check cleaning history and photos before calling a stain corrosion. There is no filter, pod or cartridge to buy, so the only running cost is electricity: at 0.153 kWh per full boil, a daily full boil works out to about 55.8 kWh a year, and the actual bill depends on your rate and how full you fill it. Repairability is low. COMFEE publishes no replacement-parts catalog, and the heater, thermostat and base are not service parts, so an electrical failure on a roughly $25 appliance most likely means replacement rather than repair.
Price and whether it’s worth it
COMFEE’s own store listed the CEKS001 at $24.99. At the roughly $24-27 band this is a strong buy for fast, simple boiling: full 1500 W US heating, a Strix thermostat, auto-off and boil-dry protection, and stainless construction. Nearby COMFEE siblings include the CEKS002 at $22.99 and the double-wall CKE17LM2APK at $29.99, and paying much above $30 should push you toward those or established alternatives instead. The weak case is a buyer who wants a cool-touch body, temperature presets, keep-warm or real repairability. Check the store panel above for current prices.
Which model this is
This page covers the COMFEE’ CEKS001, UPC 810004814974, the 1.7 L 1500 W stainless kettle. Don’t use model number CKE06L1EBASK, which some catalogues attach to this listing: COMFEE now assigns that code to a different 0.6 L gooseneck kettle. Sibling models CEKS002 and CKE17LM2APK are separate products. The US listing is ASIN B084KQTCQW.
