Summary
The Cosori Pro LE 5 Qt is Cosori’s budget 5-quart air fryer for 1–4 person households — 1500 W, a 450 °F ceiling, 9 cooking functions and a quiet ceramic-coated basket. Check the temperature accuracy before you buy: independent tests found the chamber runs 12–20 °F hotter than set across the 300–375 °F range where most recipes live.
Strengths
- Quiet operation: Homes & Gardens’ tester noted the done-beep was the first loud noise of the entire test session.
- 450 °F ceiling exceeds many rivals’ 400 °F maximum, giving real searing headroom.
- Compact footprint for a 5 qt machine at 10 lb.
- Seven usable presets plus a shake reminder that beeps halfway through cooking.
- Two-year warranty with named editorial picks from WSJ Buyside and People.com.
- Easy to clean: basket and crisper plate are dishwasher-safe.
Weaknesses
- Overcooking tendency: Homes & Gardens had to pull fries 8 minutes early from a 25-minute preset and still found bacon charred.
- Temperature inaccuracy at low settings: TechGearLab measured the chamber 12–20 °F hotter than set at 300, 350 and 375 °F.
- Non-stick coating peeling is the most common owner complaint after light use.
- No PFAS-free claim is published for this model, unlike Cosori’s TurboBlaze and Iconic.
- The VeSync app is a recipe guide, not a remote control.
- Preheat is a separate manual step, not built into cooking cycles.

Cooking performance, noise and daily use
TechGearLab’s hands-on test scored the Pro LE 66/100: chicken and tots cooked well, but sweet-potato fries and donuts came out undercooked inside. The chamber ran 12–20 °F above the setpoint at 300, 350 and 375 °F, with accuracy only at 400 °F — most air-fryer recipes call for 375 °F, so cook times may need adjustment. Homes & Gardens found the same pattern from the other side: the French-fry preset ran 25 minutes when the reviewer would have stopped around 17, and bacon crumbled at 8 minutes; vegetables were the machine’s strongest result. Their verdict: “almost too powerful for its own good.”
Noise is a genuine strength. Homes & Gardens’ tester confirmed quiet operation — the done-beep was “the first loud noise” during all tests — consistent with Cosori’s ≤55 dB Air Whisper claim, though Cosori does not publish measurement conditions. The shake reminder beeps halfway through cooking and can be toggled. The display sleeps after 3 minutes without input and pauses cooking when the basket is removed.
Coating, cleaning and running costs
Homes & Gardens identifies non-stick coating peeling as “the most common issue” in customer feedback — “in a handful of cases, the non-stick coating has peeled off… following a few cooking sessions and gentle cleans.” A long-term owner reports years of use with no flaking when avoiding aerosol cooking spray and using soft sponges. No prevalence rate can be estimated from these anecdotes.
Cosori’s UK FAQ advises hand-washing nonstick baskets because dishwasher heat and strong detergents shorten coating life, and Homes & Gardens recommends the same despite the dishwasher-safe label. The manual prescribes a first-use cleaning and empty high-heat burn-in cycle to eliminate manufacturing odors — a few customers have noted a strong burning-plastic smell during early use.
Running costs are modest. Real Homes estimates about 22¢/hour of operation at then-current electricity rates for the 1500 W element. Cosori sells replacement baskets and parts through support channels, though availability for the L501 specifically was not verified. There is no consumable lock-in.
Recall and reliability
The February 2023 CPSC recall of roughly 2 million Cosori air fryers involved a wire-connection fire hazard across the CP158-AF family, CP137-AF, CS158-AF, CO137-AF, CO158-AF, CP258-AF and CAF-P581 variants. The Pro LE (CAF-L501-KUS) is not on that list, and a September 2026 roundup confirms it is not part of any active recall. Secondhand buyers should check the bottom-label model number against the CPSC list.
Fire-incident anecdotes exist in the r/airfryer community — a 2026 thread surfaces a post titled “Beware of Cosori Air Fryer Almost burned down My Kitchen” — but this is one surfaced title, not evidence of a model-wide pattern. The recalled defect affected older models, not the Pro LE.
Warranty is two years per Cosori’s policy page, with an odd “California residents only” snippet that should be confirmed at purchase. Preheat Club independently reports a two-year limited warranty on the Pro LE product page.
Is it worth it?
Cosori’s US store lists it at $89.99 against a $99.99 compare-at price as of October 2026. Street price has hovered around $90–100 from late 2023 through October 2026, with frequent ~$10-off promotions. At $90 or less, the Pro LE is a strong budget pick for 1–4 person households that want a quiet, compact, high-temperature air fryer and accept that they will manage cook times actively. Above $100 the case thins against better-tested alternatives, and Cosori’s own TurboBlaze is the documented step up. It earned named editorial picks from WSJ Buyside and People.com in 2026.
