Summary
A four-spool filament dryer with two independent heating chambers that each reach 85 °C, aimed at multi-material setups and engineering filaments. Check the passthrough before you buy: the dryer ships without PTFE tubing, which the dry-and-print ports need.
Strengths
- Two independent chambers, each with a 200 W heater, dry two materials at different temperatures at once.
- Reaches 85 °C, above the 50–70 °C ceiling of most desktop filament dryers.
- Active dehumidification with a self-regenerating desiccant removes the usual consumable cost.
- Dry-and-print passthrough can feed up to four printers at once.
- Owners describe it as quiet, especially when auto silent mode lowers the fan speed at target temperature.
- One owner measured 85 °C heat-up in about 10 minutes.
Weaknesses
- One owner reports the touchscreen is not very responsive.
- One owner reports injection-molded plastic rollers with no metal core, and one of eight deformed and stopped rolling.
- One owner reports the lid has no gasket and no sealable vents, contradicting Creality’s sealing claim.
- PTFE tubing is not included, so the dry-and-print ports need a separate purchase.
- No independent lab test was found; the most rigorous tests come from Creality’s own beta program.
- Creality’s own blog quotes both 80 °C and 85 °C as the maximum.

Full research notes and sources
Dual chambers and who they suit
The X4 splits into two sealed drying chambers, each with its own 200 W PTC heater and its own temperature and time setting, so you can dry two spools of one filament while running two spools of another at a different temperature. The total system power is 360 W. That flexibility is the reason the unit exists: a single-chamber dryer forces you to pick one profile for everything inside it. Owners who feed multiple printers report running two K1C machines from the box without jams.
Sealing, rollers and build quality
Owner feedback on build quality is mixed, and not everyone agrees. One r/BambuLab owner reports the lid has no gasket and no sealable vents, which contradicts Creality’s claim of a sealing ring and one-way valve; a forum reviewer reports the opposite, an airtight rubber seal that held humidity to a 2% rise over 36 hours after a cycle. Rollers draw the same split: one owner calls them cheap injection-molded plastic with no metal core and reports one of eight deformed, while another in the same thread calls them high-quality steel. These are individual reports, so treat them as production variation rather than a known defect rate.
Instrumented tests
The most rigorous tests are community ones, and most carry Creality’s fingerprints. A Creality forum reviewer checked the X4’s temperature and humidity readout against calibrated SHT85 reference sensors and found it accurate enough for drying. A beta tester ran wattage, decibel, timed-temperature and moisture-recovery tests across PLA, PETG, TPU, ASA and PPA-CF, including a 32-hour continuous dry, but did not post the raw numbers in the forum text. My Tech Fun compared all three SpacePi dryers with a sponge-drying test, a thermal camera and noise measurements. No mainstream independent lab test exists.
Noise
Owners repeatedly call the X4 quiet, and auto silent mode cuts the fan speed once the target temperature is reached. A user-supplied figure of 46–48 dB appears in the spec sheet, but no source here independently confirms it; a beta tester measured decibels without publishing the result.
Price and running costs
B&H Photo listed the X4 at $179 in August 2025, Creality’s own store blog quoted $159, and it launched at $199 in June 2025. Fabbaloo reported a sale at $149 running until July 11, 2025. Creality’s Singapore store quoted 222.90 SGD, and an international marketplace listing showed $234.60.
Recurring costs are electricity at the 360 W rated power and PTFE tubing, which is not included. The desiccant regenerates on its own, so there is no filter or pod to replace.
Is it worth it?
At $149–179 the X4 covers ground few desktop dryers do: four spools, two independently controlled chambers, 85 °C, active dehumidification and passthrough. It makes the most sense if you dry engineering filaments such as PA, PC or PAHT that need 80–85 °C, or if you routinely run two materials at once. If you only ever dry a spool or two of PLA, a smaller single- or dual-spool Creality SpacePi is the cheaper route.
Which model this is
This page covers the Creality SpacePi X4, US SKU 4005010102. Don’t confuse it with the SpacePi X4L, a cheaper variant with a 75 °C maximum, 340 W rated power and a digital non-touch screen. The Amazon listing carries ASIN B0DYP9DWB4.
