Summary
A four-spool filament dryer with two independently heated chambers, each with its own target temperature, for 1.75 mm and 2.85 mm filament. Two things matter before you buy: at 85 °C the spool itself has to be rated for that heat, and the firmware Creality posts may be older than what ships on a newer unit.
Strengths
- Two chambers with independent target temperatures dry two materials at once.
- The 85 °C ceiling reaches PA, PAHT, PC and ASA that a 70 °C or 75 °C dryer cannot.
- The manual documents a real-time humidity readout next to the chamber temperature.
- The desiccant sits in the heating airflow and, per Creality, needs no replacement.
- Four spools run from a 3.2-inch touch screen with three saved presets.
- An early-access reviewer liked the quiet exhaust fan, tube connectors, latches and lighting.
Weaknesses
- No independent instrumented test of this exact model, and no measured noise figure.
- Owners report humidity climbing again a day after a dry cycle, so the sealed-storage claim is unreliable.
- Auto Dry can run both chambers together even when you set different temperatures.
- A newer unit shipped with firmware v0.2.9_1.1, and downgrading to the posted file caused humidity-sensor errors.
- A spool must be rated above the set temperature or it can deform at 85 °C.
- Owners report spools jamming near the end of a roll and rear tube fittings loosening when hot.

Two chambers, two temperatures
The reason to buy this over a single-chamber dryer is structural: two chambers, each with its own PTC heater and its own target temperature. Creality’s interface documents both a dual-chamber page that starts and pauses both sides together and a single-chamber page that sets the left or right chamber’s temperature, drying time and light separately, so ABS at 85 °C can run beside PLA at 50 °C. Creality states the two chambers can differ by 1-5 °C at an identical target and calls that normal, so treat the two sides as independent but not matched to the degree.
Moisture and what owners report
The product page never mentions a humidity sensor, but the manual labels a real-time humidity readout beside the real-time temperature and lists a temperature-and-humidity sensor failure code. The manual also documents an Auto Settings page for automatic dehumidification and automatic drying, with no published thresholds. Dehumidification otherwise works as Creality describes: dual fans expel moisture during drying, and the desiccant chamber connects to the heating airflow so it regenerates each cycle and, per Creality, never needs replacing. The manual adds two handling rules: do not remove the desiccant during a run, and do not tip loose desiccant into the drying chamber.
Owner reports test the airtight-storage claim. An owner in November 2025 saw auto-dry trigger repeatedly within a day of drying four rolls, and an owner in April 2026 in a humid climate watched the desiccant change color in days with auto-dry off. Others described better short-term sealing, so treat this as reported variability rather than proof that every unit leaks. One forum owner saw about 23-26% relative humidity on screen while a separate meter read 11%, though another tester reported the unit tracked their reference sensors closely. Two owners found auto-silent fan-speed reduction did not work on one side, and a separate auto-mode report said Auto Dry applied to both chambers at once. An owner in April 2026 reported a right-hand exhaust valve stuck slightly open. Nobody has published a failure rate, so treat these as known annoyances rather than defects.
Energy, parts and running costs
Creality’s per-cycle figures are 0.124 kWh for one chamber and 0.208 kWh for both, each at an 85 °C one-hour cycle. A rough annual number: four one-hour both-chamber runs a week for 52 weeks is 43.26 kWh, about $8.65 a year at $0.20/kWh. That is an illustration for the one-hour test condition, not a projection for multi-hour jobs.
Parts are mostly one-time buys. Creality says the desiccant needs no replacement. A 4 mm outer-diameter PTFE tube is required for the dry-and-print workflow and is not in the box; Creality sells a 1 m low-resistance star-shaped tube for $11.58 (Creality US Store, October 2026), and Micro Center lists a Capricorn TL 1 m PTFE 1.75 mm tube (SKU 803502) at $9.99. Firmware updates need a TF card that is also not included. Owners have discussed an ECAS04 pneumatic fitting as a workaround for loose tube connectors, but that is a user fix, not an approved part. The manual tells users not to open the unit or fit non-original parts, so a failed fan, PTC heater, sensor or NTC is a service matter.
Is it worth it?
Creality’s regular US listing was $159 against a crossed-out $199, with a separate Live Exclusive listing at $149 (October 2026). MatterHackers listed the same dryer at $179 and SainSmart at $199. For a buyer who needs the 85 °C ceiling and two independent chambers, $149 or below is a good buy and $150-$159 is reasonable; above $159, look at the Sovol SH03 at $109 with dual 85 °C chambers, or the Creality X4L at $119 if 75 °C is enough. A four-spool PLA/PETG-only buyer who never runs different materials at once is paying for capacity and headroom they may not use, and the SUNLU FilaDryer S4 at $116.99 has a 70 °C ceiling but a single temperature. The store’s return window is 14 days and the warranty is advertised as up to 12 months.
Which model this is
This page covers the Creality SpacePi X4, sold under ASIN B0F4ZQ8H9X. Do not merge it with the single-chamber SpacePi or the SpacePi X4L, which tops out at 75 °C. The firmware file and user manual both bind to the X4, with the posted firmware dated May 13, 2025, and a newer September 2026 unit shipping with a different firmware and model label.
