Summary
A dual-driver true-wireless earbud with adaptive ANC, Bluetooth 6.0 and hi-res codecs for under $100, built for listeners who want premium features at a budget price. Check the fit before you buy: the oval ear tips seal differently than the non-Plus model, and one owner returned them because the shallower nozzle did not work for their ears.
Strengths
- Dual-driver sound that Tom’s Guide and Scarbir rate class-leading for the price.
- Editors’ Choice awards from CNET, SoundGuys, PCMag and Tom’s Guide.
- Feature set far above the price: LDAC, aptX Lossless, Auracast, wireless charging and IP55.
- CNET used the buds for four days without recharging.
- SoundGuys measured an average 80% noise reduction with ANC on.
- Comfortable fit with the new oval tips, and five tip sizes in the box.
Weaknesses
- ANC verdict is split: Scarbir calls it disappointing and blames the oval ear tips.
- Call quality drops in wind, and Scarbir says voice volume could be higher.
- PCMag reproduced a LE Audio bug where the buds reboot when a laptop uses the microphones.
- LDAC stutters when two devices are connected, per Scarbir.
- Touch controls are finicky or overly sensitive, and in-ear detection misfires while eating.
- The case is harder to use than the previous one, and the buds can be awkward to insert.

Sound and codecs
The 10 mm dynamic driver and FeatherBA balanced armature are the reason reviewers praise the sound. Tom’s Guide estimates the quality at about 90% of AirPods Pro 3, Scarbir calls it class-leading for the price, PCMag praises powerful, well-controlled bass, and CNET says the dual drivers deliver richer, more detailed sound than the non-Plus model. The dissenting view is TechRadar, which found the audio “isn’t as good as this money can buy” even while liking the feature set. A Head-Fi user measurement reports low distortion even above 100 dB SPL.
The Qualcomm QCC3091 chip brings Snapdragon Sound, Bluetooth 6.0 and a codec list that includes LDAC, aptX Lossless, aptX Adaptive, Auracast and LC3, with AAC and SBC as fallbacks. The EarFun Audio app adds a 10-band EQ, a hearing test with a personalized profile, control customization, multipoint, Auracast management, find-headphones and AI live translation. kopfhoerer.de reports the personalized profile is too bass-heavy out of the box.
Battery and charging
EarFun rates the buds at 8 h with ANC on and 54 h total with the case; two labs measured less on a single charge. SoundGuys got 6 h 17 min with ANC on, kopfhoerer.de about 6.5 h, while Scarbir reports up to 10 h. With ANC off, kopfhoerer.de measured about 11.5 h, and the case recharges the buds about 3.5 times. PCMag says the battery largely held to the 8 h rating in its testing.
Fast charging is convenient but inconsistently specified: EarFun’s own page gives both 3 hours and 2 hours of playback from a 10-minute charge, and kopfhoerer.de measured 2 h 15 min without ANC. A full bud charge takes about 60 min, the case about 110 min over USB-C. No wall charger is included, so a buyer without a spare USB-C adapter buys one separately.
Noise cancelling and call quality
The rated 50 dB of noise cancelling is a manufacturer maximum, not a tested result. SoundGuys measured an average 63% reduction without ANC and 80% with ANC on. PCMag calls the ANC “surprisingly potent”, CNET rates it 7/10, and kopfhoerer.de rates it good for low frequencies and wind. Scarbir is the outlier: it calls the ANC disappointing, rates static noise handling well but traffic and shopping-mall noise poorly, and links the drop to the switch to oval ear tips versus the non-Plus Air Pro 4.
Call quality is fine in quiet conditions but challenged by wind: CNET and SoundGuys both report wind handling as a weakness, and Scarbir says voice output volume could be higher.
App, fit and ownership
Firmware updates ship through the EarFun Audio app; PCMag tested firmware 1.1.8 and EarFun later added AI translation. CNET saw occasional app disconnects with an iPhone 16 Pro, and PCMag found the hearing-test profile and some settings half-baked. There is no manual power on or off independent of the case, per kopfhoerer.de.
Fit is the model’s biggest variable. The oval ear tips seal differently than the non-Plus model’s, and a detailed EarFun-site owner review from December 2025 warns the shallower nozzle did not work for that buyer’s ears and needed a return. The case holds the buds vertically behind a flip-up lid, and multiple reviewers find it harder to insert and remove them than the previous case. In-ear detection can misfire while eating or smiling, briefly dropping ANC, per Scarbir. A SoundGuys-listed owner says they are absolutely satisfied with the sound quality and the comfort.
Routine upkeep is limited to keeping the ear tips and nozzles clean; a cleaning stick is included. EarFun’s product page advertises an 18-month warranty, while a “Lifetime Warranty” banner elsewhere on the site contradicts it. No battery-replacement or repair program exists for this model.
Is it worth it?
Reviewers repeatedly cite street prices in the $70–$100 range, and EarFun’s own store lists the Air Pro 4+ at $99.99. Around or below $75–$80 the value is strong: multiple Editors’ Choice awards, dual-driver sound, Bluetooth 6.0, LDAC, aptX Lossless, IP55 and wireless charging for the money. At the full $99.99 list price it is only fair value, since the model is frequently discounted and cheaper competitors with stronger ANC — the non-Plus Air Pro 4, OnePlus Buds 4, Soundcore Liberty 5 — sit nearby. PCMag lists a $79.99 MSRP against the $99.99 reference. If you care most about noise cancelling, test the fit first or weigh the older model.
