Summary
A stemless true-wireless ANC earbud with a real app, wear detection and IP54, aimed at commuters and gym users at the bottom of the budget tier. Check two things before buying: with ANC on the measured runtime is about four and a half hours, and the audio is SBC-only with no AAC and no multipoint.
Strengths
- Measured ANC is effective for the price and beat a same-price rival on mid-frequency cancellation in one head-to-head.
- Comfort and stability rate highly, and the buds stay put in sweaty workouts without ear fins.
- The Edifier Connect app adds EQ presets, tap remapping, a sleep timer and find-my-earbud at this price.
- Wear detection and IP54 cover commuting and gym use.
- Ten minutes in the case buys about an hour of playback, which softens the short runtime.
Weaknesses
- With ANC on, measured battery runs about four and a half hours, among the shortest in its class.
- SBC-only audio with harsh, distorted upper frequencies is the most repeated criticism across tests and owners.
- No multipoint, so the earbuds cannot stay connected to two devices at once.
- There is no custom EQ, only four presets.
- No volume control on the earbuds, because only double and triple taps are assignable.
- The glossy case scratches easily and has no water-resistance rating.

Battery and charging
Edifier claims 4 hours with ANC on and 6 without, and 24 hours total with the case. Two independent tests landed under the claim: 4 h 40 min with ANC on at 50% volume and 4 h 51 min. Ten minutes in the case buys an hour, a full charge takes 2 hours for the earbuds and 1.5 hours for the case, and there is no wireless charging. The case adds 12 hours with ANC on and 18 without. Scarbir calls the ANC-on runtime the elephant in the room, roughly 1-2 hours short of nearly every rival at this price.
Sound, codec and noise cancelling
Edifier advertises up to -42 dB, but that is a maximum claim, not measured performance. The one instrumented test found an average active reduction of 2.92 dBA, peaking at 11.7 dB at 200 Hz, with passive isolation averaging 10.75 dBA and doing almost nothing below 400 Hz. SoundGuys says ANC cuts loudness by about 75%, strongest around 100 Hz. Both still rate it well for the money.
The bigger compromise is the codec. The earbuds are SBC-only with no AAC and no multipoint, and two r/Earbuds threads single out this model for harsh, distorted upper frequencies. HeadphonesAddict’s measurements match: bass-heavy and boomy with a treble peak near 6.5 kHz, a dip at 10 kHz and little energy above 11-12 kHz. SoundGuys describes a 5-8 kHz boost that can turn painful on percussion at high volume. The configuration that test recommends is ANC off with the Classical preset.
Controls and app
Edifier Connect handles modes, EQ, touch remapping, a sleep timer, a find-my-earbud tone, firmware updates and 32 soothing sounds. The usual tap cycle lists High Noise Cancellation, Ambient Sound and Off, while Low ANC and Wind Reduction live in the app. Only double and triple taps are assignable, which leaves no room for volume. Game mode reduces latency but does not remove it, so it suits casual play only. Measured Bluetooth range is 40 ft (12 m) indoors.
Owner reports and reliability
Owner feedback is thin and worth reading as signals, not statistics. One owner who had used the earbuds for about two years still called them good value but said brief dropouts and choppy playback had become the main reason to replace them. Another reports playback glitching once the phone goes into a pocket, which points to body-blocking on at least some units, and a third saw the two earbuds appear as separate Bluetooth devices. On sound, one owner describes obvious high-frequency compression and distortion that persisted across three exchanged pairs, matching the review measurements; treat it as a design limit of the codec. Nobody has published a failure rate for the batteries, case, drivers or radios, so read these as a known spread rather than a defect rate.
Repairs and running costs
There are no filters, subscriptions or proprietary consumables, so the recurring running cost is effectively nothing per year. The consumable you might want is ear tips, and Edifier sells no replacement tips, earbud assemblies or batteries for this model; the support page offers only the manual, the app and the declaration of conformity. The battery is not a user part, so when capacity fades the earbuds are replaced, not repaired, and the already-short measured runtime is the thing that fades first. Edifier North America warrants earphones for one year from purchase, and only when bought from an authorized US or Canadian retailer with proof of purchase, invoice and serial number.
Is it worth it?
Anchored on the $49.99 MSRP SoundGuys records, this is strong value at or below $50. It stays defensible from $50 to $60 for gym and commuter use where a four-and-a-half-hour ANC runtime is fine. Above that, value erodes: alternatives for $10 to $30 more add longer battery, multipoint, wider range and the LC3 codec. An exact-model open-box listing on eBay was $42.50 in October 2026, and newer rivals at that money offer far longer battery and more modern connectivity, so the case for this pair rests on the compact stemless fit and the measured ANC. Scarbir cut its score in April 2025 because the category had moved past this model, and no RTINGS, Wirecutter or Tom’s Guide test of this exact model exists.
Which model this is
This page covers the Edifier TWS1 Pro 2, model number EDF200114, a stemless ANC earbud announced in August 2023. It is not the first-generation TWS1 Pro (Bluetooth V5.2, 6 mm driver, 12 h + 30 h) or the original TWS1 (Bluetooth V5.0, 8 h + 24 h). Edifier sells it in black, white and light blue.
The ASIN is B0C7L1KJRQ; a second listing, B0C7KYV8DH, appears to be a colorway of the same hardware.
