Summary

An 80-key 75% gasket-mounted wireless mechanical keyboard with a volume knob, a small TFT screen and hot-swap sockets, aimed at buyers who want enthusiast features on a budget. Check the battery claims before you buy: the product pages and the printed manual give very different runtimes.

Strengths

  • A gasket mount and five dampening layers give a cushioned, creamy feel at a budget price.
  • Hot-swap 3- and 5-pin sockets, pre-lubed stabilizers and included tools make it serviceable without soldering.
  • Tri-mode wireless with 1000 Hz polling on wired and 2.4 GHz, plus full NKRO.
  • A volume knob and a small TFT screen you rarely see at this price.
  • Double-shot PBT keycaps and south-facing per-key RGB.
  • Quoted latency is low: 3 ms wired and 7 ms on 2.4 GHz.

Weaknesses

  • There is essentially no independent, instrumented testing of this board.
  • Battery-life claims conflict: the pages say about 30.5 h with RGB on, while the manual claims 230.5 h.
  • A reviewer reports the TFT screen “glitches out quite frequently”.
  • The switch is rated for only 5 million cycles, modest for a board sold on longevity.
  • The case is ABS plastic, not metal.
  • The downloadable driver is Windows-only, and VIA/QMK support is not confirmed.

Battery and wireless

EPOMAKER rates the 4000 mAh cell at about 30.5 hours with the backlight on and 80 hours with it off, and AULA Gear repeats those numbers. The printed manual gives a different story, 230.5 hours and 280 hours, which is not credible for a 4000 mAh battery driving per-key RGB, so trust the storefront figures and treat the manual as wrong. The board deep-sleeps after five minutes idle and charges whenever it is plugged in, wired or not.

Tri-mode means USB-C, 2.4 GHz and Bluetooth 5.0, with a side switch between them and pairing for up to four devices. Polling runs at 1000 Hz over wired and 2.4 GHz and drops to 125 Hz over Bluetooth, and the quoted latency is 3 ms, 7 ms and 18 ms respectively. NKRO works in every mode, and both the 2.4 GHz dongle and the Type-C cable are in the box.

The screen and knob

The Max’s headline additions over the base AULA F75 are a 0.85-inch TFT screen and a metal volume knob. The screen shows time, battery and connection status and accepts custom GIFs; the knob handles volume, RGB and backlight styles. It is also the one part owners have complained about: an EPOMAKER reviewer reports the screen “glitches out quite frequently”. Nobody has published a failure rate, so treat that as a known annoyance rather than a defect.

Repairs and upkeep

Repairability is a genuine plus. The 3- and 5-pin hot-swap sockets, standard plate-mount stabilizers (screw-in compatible) and included keycap and switch puller mean you can change switches, stabilizers and caps without a soldering iron, and the manual documents keycap and switch replacement. The battery is internal, and no user-replaceable battery or spare-parts program is documented. Configuration runs through the browser-based EPOMAKER Hub or the Windows-only AULA Driver, and no VIA or QMK support is asserted for this exact model.

Price and value

AULA Gear lists the F75 Max at $79.99 across its colorways, and EPOMAKER sells it direct at $82.99; both are fair for a gasket 75% with a screen, knob and hot-swap. Below roughly $80 it is strong value, while above about $95 it gets hard to justify given the ABS case and the modest switch rating. EPOMAKER ships free over $69 on in-stock items. Returns differ by seller: EPOMAKER offers 30 days, while AULA Gear gives a 7-day window and charges a 35% restocking fee even on opened-but-working units, so buy from the channel with the friendlier policy.

Which model this is

This page covers the co-branded EPOMAKER x AULA F75 Max, also sold as the AULA F75 Max. Don’t confuse it with the base AULA F75, the F75 Ultra or the Hall-Effect F75 HE, which differ in screen, price and switch line.
