Summary
A wired 4K pan/tilt indoor camera with on-device AI detection and local microSD storage, with no monthly fee required. Check your router before you buy: the E30 joins 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi only, and owners report setup failures on WiFi 7 routers.
Strengths
- Consumer Reports called daytime video “about as sharp and clear as we’ve seen” and nighttime video “excellent.”
- On-device AI detects people, pets, audio and crying, and auto-tracks people and pets without a subscription.
- App alerts landed 2.4 seconds after events on average in Consumer Reports testing.
- Local storage to a 128 GB microSD card with no mandatory monthly fee.
- HomeKit, Alexa and Google Assistant support; HomeKit onboarding took about 3 minutes with no eufy account.
Weaknesses
- Indoor only with no weather-resistance rating, even though the E30 name also covers outdoor eufy cameras.
- HomeKit caps the stream at 1080p; 4K and most AI features need the eufy app.
- Wi-Fi is 2.4 GHz only, and owners in r/EufyCam report setup failures with WiFi 7 routers.
- The microSD card is not included, so local storage costs extra up front.
- Consumer Reports rated data privacy only “mediocre” despite “very good” data security.
- eufy’s hardware warranty is 12 months, and no parts catalog exists for this model.

Picture quality and night vision
Consumer Reports (2025-07-19) measured daytime video “about as sharp and clear as we’ve seen” and nighttime video “excellent: fully viewable, with a good amount of brightness and clarity.” A June 2026 Korben hands-on found 4K sharp and bright and the spotlight’s color night vision readable. IR reaches 32.8 ft; the spotlight covers 16.4 ft for color at night.
Setup, smart home and app
A 9to5Mac review (2025-02-28) reported HomeKit onboarding in about 3 minutes with no eufy account needed, and the camera works as a baby monitor and a HomeKit motion trigger. The tradeoff: HomeKit video is capped at 1080p, and 4K, pet tracking and SD recording work only in the eufy app. Facial recognition (“BionicMind”) is a HomeBase feature, not a standalone camera feature. An r/EufyCam thread reports the E30 failing to complete setup with a WiFi 7 router, and another reports an Indoor Cam E30 not doing continuous recording. A YouTube review notes the power cord can pull out of the device when the camera is moved, turning it off. An r/EufyCam thread discusses buying one to monitor an elderly father.
Warranty, repairs and running costs
eufy’s refund policy lists “Security | 12 Months”: the hardware warranty runs 12 months from the purchase date and software upgrade service two years; eufy US also offers a 30-day money-back guarantee. No parts catalog exists for the E30. A 2024 r/EufyCam thread says eufy battery cameras “tend to go down after 3 to 4 years” — that covers battery models, not this wired one. Recording writes to a microSD card up to 128 GB that is not included; that is the one upfront extra. Core functions need no monthly fee. Optional paid cloud storage exists, and push notifications with thumbnails require thumbnail images to be temporarily stored in the cloud. HomeBase 3 (S380) adds up to 16 TB for owners who want it.
Is it worth it?
eufy US lists the white E30 at $69.99 and the black variant at $74.99; a collection page has shown $59.99 on sale, and a two-camera kit is $99.99–$129.99. A June 2026 Korben hands-on saw it around €45–60. At those prices it is a strong buy for a wired 4K indoor camera with mechanical pan/tilt, on-device AI tracking and no mandatory fee. Above them, the 1080p HomeKit cap and 2.4 GHz-only Wi-Fi get harder to live with.
Which model this is
