Summary
A battery-powered 2K pan/tilt outdoor security camera with 360-degree coverage, AI detection and a detachable solar panel, sold by eufy with no monthly fee for core features. Check your sunlight before you buy: the solar panel needs enough daily sun to keep the battery charged, and the camera has no built-in storage.
Strengths
- No monthly subscription required for core features.
- 360-degree pan and 90-degree tilt cover a full area from one mount.
- The detachable 3W solar panel can keep the camera charged in sufficient sunlight.
- 2K resolution with AI human, vehicle and pet detection and auto-tracking.
- Local storage via microSD avoids cloud fees and keeps footage on-site.
- No HomeBase required; the camera works standalone with a microSD card.
Weaknesses
- No built-in storage; without a microSD card the camera cannot record at all.
- No 24/7 continuous recording, even when connected to HomeBase Mini.
- Color night vision requires a visible spotlight, which may disturb neighbors or household members.
- Not compatible with Apple HomeKit or HomeBase 2.
- The 45-day battery claim assumes 75 motion events per day; higher usage reduces it significantly.
- No independent instrumented test coverage was found as of October 2026.

Full research notes and sources
Battery, solar and running costs
The 6700 mAh battery is rated for up to 45 days per charge at 75 motion events per day. eufy’s FAQ notes that battery may still decrease with solar panels in low-sunlight or high-temperature conditions, and that less than 2 hours of daily sunlight may not support continuous power. The 3W solar panel is detachable, so you can position it separately from the camera for optimal sun exposure. The panel is included with the camera.
The only recurring cost is a microSD card (up to 256 GB, sold separately). No monthly subscription is required for core features. An optional eufy Plus membership costs $15 a month or $135 a year and provides extended warranty and perks, but it is not required.
Storage and recording
The C37 has no built-in storage. A microSD card up to 256 GB is required for any recording, and it is sold separately. The camera does not support 24/7 continuous recording, even when connected to HomeBase Mini; it is event-triggered only. It works with HomeBase 3 (V3.7.8.4+) and HomeBase Mini (V4.0.5.6+), but is not compatible with HomeBase 2.
Detection and night vision
AI detection covers humans, vehicles and pets, with auto-tracking that uses the pan/tilt to follow motion. Color night vision uses a built-in spotlight, which is visible and may disturb neighbors or household members. Infrared mode is available for darker night vision without the spotlight. The 96 dB siren and white spotlight serve as active deterrence.
What owners and tests say
No independent instrumented test from RTINGS, Wirecutter, Tom’s Guide, CNET or PCMag was found as of October 2026. Web search was rate-limited during research, preventing systematic discovery of owner discussions. The eufy C Series landing page displays selected customer reviews praising 360-degree tracking, fast video loading, build quality, ease of setup, pan/tilt controls, picture quality and value for money; these are manufacturer-curated and should be treated as marketing-selected. Buyers should treat eufy’s battery life and AI detection claims as unverified by independent testing.
Is it worth it?
At the $69.99 sale price on eufy.com (Fall 2026), the C37 offers 2K resolution, 360-degree pan/tilt, AI tracking, color night vision, solar charging and no subscription — a competitive feature set. At $99.99 MSRP, the value weakens as competitors offer built-in storage, higher weatherproof ratings or HomeKit support at similar prices. The 4K variant at $129.99 is a separate product. Those needing HomeKit, built-in storage or 24/7 recording should look elsewhere.
Which model this is
This page covers the eufyCam C37 (also referred to as eufy Security C37), ASIN B0GQ33SWXZ. It is a battery-powered pan/tilt outdoor security camera marketed by eufy as “The Outdoor Sentinel.” Do not confuse it with the eufyCam C31 (wired, IP66, no battery), C35 (magnetic mount, IP67, PureColor Vision), E30 (2K, 10000 mAh), E42 (4K, wired) or S340 (dual-lens, 3K+2K). The C37 4K Edition is a separate product.
