Problems, parts and running costs

Summary

A filterless 2.5 L top-fill ultrasonic humidifier for bedrooms and nurseries, with three mist levels, 2/4/8-hour timers and a color-changing night light. Check the fine print before you buy: the maker’s own pages disagree on whether it runs 20 or 24 hours, and no independent lab has tested this model.

Strengths

  • No filter to buy, ever: the running cost is water, electricity and cleaning supplies.
  • Top-fill tank and wide cleaning access get repeated praise from owners.
  • Owners repeatedly describe it as quiet enough to run overnight in a bedroom.
  • Three mist levels, timers, auto shutoff, a night light and aromatherapy at a budget price.
  • The electronics carry a 2-year warranty once you register the product.
  • A separate aroma tray and an included cleaning brush keep upkeep simple.

Weaknesses

  • No independent lab has tested this exact model, so the noise and coverage figures are seller claims.
  • Official listings contradict each other on runtime (20 vs 24 hours) and coverage (300 vs 425 sq ft).
  • Two owners report early failures: one unit stopped after a day, another after about three months.
  • The humidity control is just mist output; no sensor holds a target humidity for you.
  • Hard tap water leaves white mineral dust, which any ultrasonic humidifier can produce.
  • One owner calls the display too bright, with no dimming option.

Runtime and coverage

Everlasting Comfort sells what looks like the same white 2.5 L top-fill unit on two different product pages. One promises up to 20 hours of runtime, the other up to 24, and retailer mirrors split the same way. Coverage is just as split: records tied to this model’s manual say 300 sq ft, later listings say 425. Nobody has published an independent test that settles either number, so treat both as ranges rather than facts. What is consistent across every record is the 2.5 L tank, the filterless ultrasonic design, three output levels, touch controls and the auto shutoff. At the rated 24 W the arithmetic is simple: about 0.192 kWh over an eight-hour night, or 70.08 kWh a year if you run it every night at full draw. At an illustrative $0.18 per kWh that is roughly $12.61 a year; leave it on around the clock and the ceiling is 210.24 kWh, about $37.84.

Noise, light and aroma

The 28 dB figure in listing titles comes from the seller; no independent measurement exists. What owners do say, repeatedly, is that it runs quiet enough for overnight bedroom use. The eight-color LED light gets cited as genuinely useful in bedrooms and nurseries, though one owner finds the display too bright at night and it does not dim. Aromatherapy is supported, but the oil procedure is not fully documented: the manual transcription specifies a separate aroma tray and warns against pouring oil into the water tank, while some listings suggest the tank works too. One owner reported a weak scent, with mist and aroma that would not run together. Follow the manual packed with your unit rather than the listing.

Reliability, parts and running costs

Two owner reports describe early failures: a verified TikTok buyer, in a review dated November 30, 2025, whose unit worked for one day and then stopped, and a separate report of a unit dying after about three months. That is a caution flag, not a failure rate — no broad pattern shows up in forums, and the scarcity of long-term reports limits what anyone can say about durability. The owner with the three-month failure reported that support sent a replacement. Repairability is low: there is no parts catalog for this model, so an electronic failure means a warranty claim. Registration is required for the 2-year electronics warranty, and claims need order confirmation, a description and a photo of any visible damage.

Cleaning is the real upkeep. There is no filter, so no cartridge bill, but the manual lists low water, scale on the atomizer, a blocked mist outlet and incorrect assembly as the causes of weak mist, and vinegar clears scale. The EPA recommends cleaning portable humidifiers every third day and keeping rooms under 50% relative humidity; the maker’s own guidance says at least weekly. Empty and dry the tank daily, wipe the atomizer, and use distilled or low-mineral water if your tap water is hard. That last choice is the biggest running cost: at 1 L a day, distilled water runs about 96 gallons a year, which Consumer Reports prices at roughly $1 a gallon, so about $96 a year. Water cost is the variable; the electricity is minor.

Is it worth it?

Buy it on sale, or direct from the maker when stock returns; marketplace sellers ask far more. The maker’s easy-clean page showed $19.99 and the quiet-operation page $49.99, both sold out when checked on 2026-10-08. MartDiscover lists it at $42.49 and BigEasyMart at $49.99. At $25 or less the feature set is excellent for the money; from $26 to $35 it is defensible for the controls and filterless design. Above $40, compare first: the Dreo HM311 has a 4 L tank and an official $39.99 asking price, and the Levoit Classic 160 lists at $39.99 at Walmart Business, though it was out of stock. If published performance testing matters more than price, the Carepod One is the one to look at: RTINGS measured a 2.5 L usable tank and about 10 hours of runtime in its tests.

Which model this is

This page covers the white US Everlasting Comfort 2.5 L top-fill humidifier, listed as model HUM-25L-TOUCH-W in marketplace records and made by Upper Echelon Products. Its UPC is 810062783335. The Amazon listing is ASIN B0D9PS5DVW. Don’t confuse it with the 6 L or 4 L models, the 2.5 L Panda version, or the other near-identical listings, which are different products.
