Summary
The FlexiSpot EN1 is a budget single-motor electric standing desk with a one-piece 48 × 24-inch top, four height presets and a claimed 176 lb capacity. Before you buy, confirm the exact revision and the seller: the EN1 name covers both an older 154 lb three-preset frame and the current four-preset bundle, and the cheapest listings come from third-party marketplace sellers.
Strengths
- A one-piece 48 × 24 top avoids the center joint found on many inexpensive split-top desks.
- Four quick-return height presets cover the usual seated and standing positions.
- Wide enough for a laptop plus one or two monitors; a tester ran two 27-inch screens and a laptop arm.
- Lower entry cost than premium powered desks, with a black 48 × 24 listing seen at $95.69 (Walmart marketplace, October 2026).
- Some EN1-family owners report years of trouble-free adjustment, including one still working from 2023 into April 2026.
- FlexiSpot provides a legacy EN1 manual, an assembly video and a general reset guide.
Weaknesses
- The 28.9-inch minimum height is tall for shorter seated users; this is not a low three-stage frame.
- Only 24 inches of depth, so large monitor bases, clamp-on arms and a full keyboard can make the surface feel tight.
- Single motor and two-stage frame mean slower lifting and a narrower height range than premium dual-motor desks.
- No integrated cable tray in the reviewed package.
- The controller on the tested one-piece unit is fixed to the right-hand side.
- Warranty eligibility for the cheapest third-party listings is unconfirmed.
Verified specifications
| Identity | current US seller label “FLEXISPOT EN1 One-Piece Standing Desk”, 48 × 24 inches. |
|---|---|
| Dimensions | 48 × 24 in (about 122 × 61 cm) one-piece desktop. |
| Frame | two-leg, single-motor electrically driven sit/stand mechanism. |
| Height range | 28.9–46.5 inches on current 48 × 24 retail copy; older EN1 frame-only pages list 27.9–47.6 inches, or 29–48.6 inches on other subpages. |
| Memory | four height presets claimed for the current bundle; older EN1 keypads had three presets. |
| Claimed lifting capacity | 176 lb for the current marketplace bundle; the legacy EN1 frame was rated 154 lb, excluding desktop weight. |
| Motion speed and noise | historical EN1 spec about 1 inch/second and less than 50 dB; a 2025 reviewer timed a roughly 29-to-46-inch transition in 15–18 seconds and called the motor quiet. |
| Collision response | marketplace descriptions mention anti-collision, but sensor sensitivity and adjustment sequence are not validated for the one-piece bundle. |
| Power | mains operation; historical manufacturer EN1 pages give a 100–240 V AC input range for the older motor assembly. |
| Assembly | a self-described 2025 hands-on account says one person took about 45 minutes with the included tools. |
| Origin | older official EN1 documentation names Vietnam, FCC/UL certifications and a Loctek Linear Motion actuator. |

Which revision you are buying
FlexiSpot’s older US EN1 frame pages describe a 154 lb lifting capacity, three presets and a height range of about 27.9–47.6 inches, with other subpages quoting 29–48.6 inches. Those figures do not match the current one-piece 48 × 24 bundle sold with four presets and a claimed 176 lb capacity. The older hands-on reviews from 2021 tested the older top and keypad, so do not carry their numbers over. Treat the current listing’s capacity and height as seller claims, not independently load-certified measurements, and check the part number and keypad on the unit you receive.
Wobble, controllers and other owner reports
The most detailed report is a controller fault: a buyer who got an EN1 in September 2024 wrote in December 2024 that after about three months the desk stuck at its lowest height with r5t on the display, and a normal reset would not clear it. They later said manually equalising the legs with the desk disassembled, then resetting, restored operation. That is one user’s fix, not a safe universal repair, because powered linkages can move unexpectedly. FlexiSpot’s UK support guide says an RST controller often clears with a long hold of the down arrow through the bottom and a slight rebound, with obstructions cleared and connections checked; contact the vendor before copying any invasive workaround.
Wobble reports are mixed. An October 2025 owner said a mounted monitor arm shook even near the minimum height. A September 2026 owner noticed no wobble at sitting height, and a 2025 four-week test found the desk stable with about 60 lb on carpet. Desks assembled differently, on different flooring and with different arm leverage will not behave alike. A July 2026 owner of a possibly EN1 or EN2 unit bought in 2020 said it began making noise and shaking only on descent, and shaft-coupling lubrication reportedly helped; the model is uncertain, so this is not a failure rate for the current bundle. A September 2026 owner also mentioned an occasional reset or calibration event after roughly five months, with no root cause given.
Assembly and everyday annoyances
A 2021 Android Central review criticised unclear instructions and poor cable concealment, though that was not the current one-piece revision. A 2025 hands-on account says the package was manageable solo in about 45 minutes, but the hand controller was fixed on the right. There is no integrated cable tray in the reviewed package, and only 24 inches of depth means large monitor bases, clamp arms and full keyboards can make the surface feel tight. The 28.9-inch minimum is tall for shorter seated users, and the one-piece top cannot be split down for carrying upstairs through narrow entries.
Parts, maintenance and running costs
No fluids, filters or batteries are needed to raise and lower a mains-powered desk; service parts are repair-only and not openly priced for the current bundle. A replacement one-piece desktop is a heavy-damage item only: FlexiSpot’s laminate desktop page lists 48 × 24 as a selectable size with $99.99 displayed for the default 42 × 24 selection, which is not a verified 48 × 24 price. Keypads, motors, drive-shaft couplings and control boxes are replaced only after a confirmed fault, with no published current part numbers or prices; older literature names a Loctek actuator. A 2026 owner of a possibly EN1 or EN2 unit found shaft-coupling lubrication helpful after about six years.
Electricity is the only real running cost. There is no independent wattmeter record for this bundle, so any figure is an estimate: if lifts average 2 minutes of motor-on time per workday over 260 days a year at a hypothetical 100 W, that is about 0.87 kWh a year, or $0.17 at an assumed $0.20/kWh. Add an unverified assumed 1 W standby draw and the illustrative total is about $1.92 a year. Real use and local rates will differ.
Price, warranty and value
Listings observed in October 2026 put a black 48 × 24 one-piece EN1 at $95.69 and a white one at $164.99, both from third-party Walmart marketplace sellers rather than confirmed authorized FlexiSpot resellers. A site calling itself FlexiSpot Home advertised from $109.99, but it is not the official flexispot.com store, and FlexiSpot’s own legacy EN1 page is marked Off Shelf with no purchasable price. Comparable desks include the ErGear 48 × 24 with a keyboard tray at $156.99, the FEZiBO Brasa 48 × 24 with drawers at $189.99, and the dual-motor IKEA MITTZON at $499.99.
The legacy FlexiSpot US warranty covers 5 years on the frame, motor and mechanisms, 2 years on controller and electronics, and 2 years on chipboard tops (5 years for bamboo), for the original purchaser from an authorized seller, with no transfer. FlexiSpot has not confirmed that the exact third-party 176 lb bundle qualifies. Direct FlexiSpot orders historically had a 30-day return option; third-party marketplace returns follow the seller’s rules. Owner outcomes vary: a 2021 owner reported a warranty replacement taking about two months of repeated emails, while a 2026 owner of an older model said support could not help an out-of-warranty desk.
On value, the EN1 is attractive at about $105 or less if the unit is complete, returnable and the seller terms are acceptable; $106–130 is reasonable for the one-piece top and four presets, and above $160 it is weak next to the alternatives unless a better seller or warranty justifies the extra.
