Summary
Google’s smallest fourth-generation Pixel Watch, sold here in the 41mm Wi-Fi case in Matte Black with an Obsidian Active Band. It brings a bright domed display, fast charging and user-replaceable battery and glass, but the 41mm version needs a charge about every day, so check that against your routine before buying.
Strengths
- The domed Actua 360 display is bright, readable at wide angles and a clear step up from the Pixel Watch 3.
- The Quick Charge Dock tops the watch up fast, so short charging breaks go a long way.
- Google says the battery and display are user-replaceable, which is rare for a smartwatch.
- Dual-frequency GPS is noticeably more accurate than single-band in testing.
- Hands-free Gemini “Raise to Talk” works well for quick questions.
- It is the smallest and least expensive way into the Pixel Watch 4 line.
Weaknesses
- The 41mm model needs near-daily charging; testers reached about 26–36 hours and leaned on Battery Saver.
- The rated 30 hours only holds with the automatic 15% Battery Saver, which turns off the always-on display.
- The domed Gorilla Glass 5 has no sapphire option and scratched within a month in one test.
- Gemini “Raise to Talk” sometimes triggers on its own or misses an intentional raise.
- The band connector has a learning curve and can feel stiff.
- Fitness coaching and running plans sit behind a Fitbit Premium subscription.

Battery life
Google rates the 41mm at up to 30 hours with the always-on display on and up to 48 hours in Battery Saver, but the fine print matters. The watch drops into Battery Saver automatically at 15%, which turns off the always-on display and delays some notifications; without that safety net, CNET measured closer to 26 hours. 9to5Google’s 41mm reviewer reached about 36 hours before hitting 15% and still chose to charge nightly. PCMag’s often-quoted 56 hours came from the 45mm model, not this one, so do not expect it here.
In practice, plan on charging roughly once a day. The Quick Charge Dock softens that: Google quotes about 15 minutes to 50%, 25 minutes to 80% and 45 minutes to 100%, and CNET measured about 60% in 15 minutes and full in roughly 40 minutes with its own 20W adapter. CNET’s month-long test settled into 10-minute top-ups and reached the 30-hour mark in the middle of its second day.
Screen and durability
The Actua 360 panel is a domed AMOLED rated up to 3,000 nits peak, with 1 nit minimum brightness for the always-on mode, and reviewers across PCMag, 9to5Google, CNET and Android Central call it bright and readable at wide angles. The dome is polarizing, though: it adds slight resistance to some swipes. Some CNET text called it a “4,000-nit” screen, but Google’s own spec and the reviews say 3,000 nits, so treat 3,000 as the figure.
Durability is the other compromise. The cover is Gorilla Glass 5 with no sapphire option, and CNET scratched its 41mm unit within a month, so a screen protector is worth considering if you are hard on watches. The watch is 5 ATM and IP68 rated, and PCMag notes a water-lock mode engages automatically when it is submerged.
Repairs, parts and running costs
Google says the Pixel Watch 4’s battery and display can be replaced for the first time in the line, and reviewers describe reaching the internals through two screws at the band connectors. Replacement part prices and retail availability were not published, so budget for the repair process rather than a fixed part price.
The main recurring cost is optional Fitbit Premium at $9.99 a month, which unlocks coaching and running plans. Cellular service on LTE models varies by carrier. List prices: Google Store has the 41mm Wi-Fi at $349.99 and the 45mm at $399.99, and LTE adds $100 (Google Store, 2026). A September 2026 CNET report saw the 41mm LTE at $330 (from $450) and the 45mm LTE at $480 (from $500) during a promotion.
Is it worth it?
At $349.99 the 41mm Wi-Fi model is a fair-value premium Android watch for smaller wrists: the display, charging speed and repairability are its strengths, and daily charging plus scratch-prone glass are the compromises. If endurance matters more, the 45mm is the better pick, because reviewers report materially longer runtime. CNET has also seen the 41mm LTE dip to $330, which improves the value. PCMag still keeps the Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 as its Android Editors’ Choice for feature breadth and free AI health insights.
Which model this is
This page covers the Google Pixel Watch 4 in 41mm, Wi-Fi, Matte Black aluminum with the Obsidian Active Band. The part code GA09958-US did not appear on Google’s own pages during research, so treat it as a reference code rather than a confirmed manufacturer part number. The watch comes in two case sizes, 41mm and 45mm, each sold Wi-Fi or Wi-Fi + 4G LTE. Don’t confuse it with the Pixel Watch 3, kept on sale at a lower price, or the newer Pixel Watch 5, which starts at $400.
