Summary
A compact single-serve brewer that makes hot or iced coffee from K-Cup pods or your own grounds, 5.5 inches wide to fit a small counter. It has no carafe and no independent test of this exact model, so buy it for the size and the pod-or-grounds choice, not for measured brewing performance.
Strengths
- Narrow 5.5 in footprint suits small kitchens.
- Brews from either K-Cup pods or ground coffee, with both holders included.
- Hot or iced, with regular or bold strength on hot.
- Removable 45 oz reservoir and a cup rest that clears a 7.5 in travel mug.
- Manufacturer sells exact-model replacement parts, so wear items are replaceable.
- No capsule lock-in; any K-Cup-compatible pod works.
Weaknesses
- No carafe mode; it cannot brew a full pot.
- Iced mode is brew-over-ice, not cold brew.
- No independent instrumented test of this exact model was found.
- The manufacturer’s own product page showed no reviews and no questions at check time.
- The 2-minute brew is a manufacturer claim for an 8 oz cup, not timed by a test.
- The product page omits weight, wattage, voltage and warranty length.

Brewing, sizes and water
The “4 ways” count pod or grounds across hot and iced, not four brewing technologies. Hot coffee comes in 8, 10, 12 and 14 oz, iced in 10, 12 and 14 oz, and the 45 oz removable reservoir is rated for up to five 8 oz cups before a refill. Hamilton Beach claims an 8 oz hot cup in 2 minutes; nobody has timed this exact model independently. The cup rest takes a standard mug and lifts out so a 7.5 in (19 cm) travel mug fits under the spout.
What it can’t do
There is no carafe, so one-cup households are the target and multi-cup batches need a machine such as the 5-in-1 49929 or 49924. Iced mode brews strong coffee over ice rather than making cold brew. Single-serve only is the trade for the narrow 5.5 in body.
Parts and running costs
Hamilton Beach sells exact-model parts from the 49925 page: a pod holder and a brew basket at $3.99 each, a needle seal at $2.99, a charcoal water filter 2-pack at $15.99 and a replacement travel mug at $15.99 (Hamilton Beach, 2026). Ongoing costs are the pods or ground coffee you choose plus occasional descaling; since there is no capsule lock-in, any K-Cup-compatible pod works.
Is it worth it?
At the manufacturer’s $79.99 list price (Hamilton Beach, 2026) the package makes sense for a small counter that needs one cup at a time from pods or grounds. Above about $100 the case weakens, because this segment has machines with real test coverage and longer owner histories, and no independent test of the 49925 exists to justify a premium. Consumer Reports ranks Hamilton Beach fourth of 35 single-serve brands for predicted reliability in a 47,003-machine member survey of 2017-2025 purchases, but that is brand-level, not proof for this model. One owner report names this exact product flashing “add water”, and family-level Reddit signals from the same thread include a unit leaking around the single-serve side after years of use, a unit that quit suctioning water, and a strong plastic smell on a new machine. The manufacturer’s page showed the model out of stock at check time.
Which model this is
This page covers the FlexBrew Advanced 4-in-1, model 49925, in black. The listing used here is ASIN B0DQ1YN7TN.
It is not the closely numbered 49921 single-serve iced-and-hot, the 49929 or 49924 5-in-1 with carafe, or the older 49901 Gen 4; those are different machines and their evidence does not apply here.
