Summary
A configurable gaming tower from HP’s OMEN 45L line, built around the Cryo Chamber case with an Intel Core Ultra 7 265K and an RTX 5070. Read the upgrade path before you buy: the custom motherboard accepts only two CPUs and caps memory at 64 GB.
Strengths
- The Cryo Chamber pulls CPU radiator air from outside the case; a 2022 owner reported 70 C peak CPU temps.
- Owners and reviewers keep praising the quiet operation.
- Toolless access and industry-standard name-brand parts make maintenance easy.
- The case is sold separately and is built for DIY reuse.
- An 850 W ATX 3.1 fully modular PSU leaves room for a bigger graphics card.
Weaknesses
- The custom HP motherboard (“WildheartOC”) supports only the Core Ultra 7 265K or Core Ultra 9 285K.
- Moving to 32 GB or 64 GB means replacing the stock 16 GB kit, and the board tops out at 64 GB DDR5-5600.
- No AMD upgrade path exists because of proprietary cabling.
- The BIOS is restricted compared with a DIY board, a repeated complaint.
- No instrumented review of this exact configuration exists.
- Rear I/O is minimal on older revisions, and the tall case needs clearance.

The case and cooling
The 45L’s selling point is the Cryo Chamber, which feeds the CPU radiator from outside the case and exhausts it separately. Reviewers who tested the 2022 version praised the design, and PCMag made that model an Editors’ Choice. A 2022 owner reported a 70 C peak on the CPU under load. HP lists this build with a 360 mm LCD liquid-cooling loop in a full-metal frame with tempered glass panels.
Upgrades and the custom motherboard
HP confirms the WildheartOC board takes only the Core Ultra 7 265K or Ultra 9 285K, with no AMD path because of proprietary cabling. Memory tops out at 64 GB DDR5-5600 across four slots, so a jump to 32 GB or 64 GB replaces the two stock 16 GB modules. The case itself is friendlier: toolless side panels, washable dust filters and standard parts, which is why it is also sold on its own for DIY builds. Reviewers of the 2022 tower called the HP BIOS locked down and limiting.
What the reviews cover
Every in-depth review found is of the 2022 45L with 12th-gen Intel chips, DDR4 and older GPUs, not this configuration. PCMag, Tom’s Hardware, Windows Central, PC Gamer and TechRadar all covered that earlier generation and generally praised the cooling, quietness and build. Tom’s Hardware flagged the custom microATX board, the restricted BIOS and the slim rear port selection, and its own review unit arrived with the Cryo Chamber radiator partly detached. Reviews of the larger OMEN MAX 45L (GT23-0000t) exist from 2026, but that is a different chassis and SKU. Nobody has published thermals, noise or performance figures for the Core Ultra 7 265K + RTX 5070 build, so treat this exact configuration as untested.
Price and value
HP lists the RTX 5070 configuration at $2,549.99 after a $450 discount from a $2,999.99 list price (HP Store, 2026-10). A 32 GB RTX 5070 build appeared at $1,399 after discounts on r/buildapcsales in May 2026, and a 5090 build at $5,060, or $3,795 with a promo code, in November 2025. Best Buy lists a differently suffixed GT22-3000I RTX 5070 at $1,799.99.
Buy it for the case: the Cryo Chamber, toolless build and standard parts are the reasons to choose a 45L over another prebuilt. At HP’s price the value is thin against DIY parts; at the $1,399 deal price the case and cooling make it competitive for 1440p gaming. Check the upgrade limits first (two CPUs, 64 GB of DDR5-5600 and a custom BIOS), and buy when a deal brings the price near a DIY build. If you plan to swap CPUs across brands later, this platform will not let you.
Which model this is
This page covers the 2026 OMEN 45L Gaming Desktop GT22-3000t (HP part A4ND8AV_1), a customizable-to-order tower. Do not confuse it with the 2022 OMEN 45L (12th-gen Intel, DDR4), the OMEN MAX 45L (GT23-0000t), or Best Buy’s GT22-3000I suffix.
