Summary
A 13.3-inch ultraportable built around AMD’s Ryzen AI 7 350 that weighs under 2.2 lb, aimed at students, commuters and frequent travelers. Check the battery and memory before you buy: the 43 Wh pack and the soldered 16 GB of RAM are fixed for the life of the machine.
Strengths
- Under 2.2 lb with a rigid chassis that feels premium for the weight class.
- The Ryzen AI 7 350 handles office work and moderate multitasking comfortably.
- Generous ports for a thin laptop: two USB-C, two USB-A and HDMI 2.1.
- A 5 MP webcam with a physical privacy shutter.
- Quiet fan noise and easy servicing through four Phillips screws.
- Good value when it is discounted.
Weaknesses
- The 43 Wh battery limits all-day untethered use next to newer Intel and Qualcomm rivals.
- The 16 GB of RAM is soldered, so there is no upgrade path.
- The 60 Hz IPS panel looks dull and there is no OLED or HDR option.
- Both USB-C ports sit on the same side, which is awkward for charger placement.
- The clickpad is cramped at 11.5 x 6.5 cm and the lid opens only about 130 degrees.
- Keyboard travel is short and the clatter is louder than average.

Display
Notebookcheck measured 442 nits maximum brightness on the panel, above HP’s 400-nit rating, with a 1473:1 contrast ratio, 96.8% sRGB coverage and 66.5% Display P3. Out of the box the colour accuracy is poor (ColorChecker dE 4.34), but calibrating with a colorimeter brings it to 0.58. Reviewers still describe the image as dull and lifeless, and there is no OLED, HDR or touchscreen option at any configuration.
Battery life
HP rates the machine for more than 12 hours and XDA measured 11-12 hours in mixed use, which gets most people through a workday but not much beyond it. Notebookcheck called battery life strong despite the small capacity; PCWorld and TechRadar treat the 43 Wh pack as the laptop’s main weakness, since Intel Lunar Lake and Snapdragon X machines last longer. If untethered runtime matters most to you, look elsewhere.
Keyboard, ports and repairs
The keyboard sits closer to an EliteBook than a Pavilion in feel, with sharp feedback, short travel and louder-than-average clatter. The port selection covers most desks without a dongle, though both USB-C ports are on one side. Servicing is straightforward: four Phillips screws hold the bottom panel, the single M.2 2280 SSD and the WLAN module are replaceable, and there are no hidden screws under rubber feet. The RAM is not replaceable.
Is it worth it?
At HP’s listed $1,250 (HP US Store, December 2025) the value is mixed, but the machine has sold for less: PCWorld saw the 32 GB variant at $869 in November 2025, and base configurations at $949.99 have been discounted by as much as 44% (TechRadar, February 2026). At those sale prices the light build, port selection and Ryzen AI 7 350 performance make it a strong commuter laptop. At full price, buyers who need better battery life or a nicer display should look at OLED and Snapdragon alternatives.
