Summary
A mature 6-quart electric pressure cooker with an 18/8 stainless inner pot, saute, steaming, yogurt and slow-cook roles, and a huge recipe ecosystem behind it. Check which hardware revision you are actually buying first: the listing has spanned years of Duo Plus updates under one identifier.
Strengths
- The core hardware is proven: a 6-quart 18/8 stainless pot over a 1000 W heater with low and high pressure.
- No nonstick coating to flake off; the stainless pot cleans easily and replacements are cheap.
- Saute-then-pressure in one vessel is the workflow owners keep praising.
- A huge body of recipes and troubleshooting knowledge exists for this machine.
- Owners report multi-year regular service — a longevity signal, not a guarantee.
- Launch reviewers found the interface and manual clearer than the older Duo’s.
Weaknesses
- The ASIN spans years of hardware: listings promising WhisperQuiet, auto-seal or sous vide may not match the box you receive.
- Sealing and venting problems recur in owner threads — steam leaks or slow pressurization, usually traced to rings, the float valve or debris.
- Replacement rings and valves do not fit every lid revision, so match parts before ordering.
- Slow-cook results are mixed: heat concentrates at the base, less evenly than a dedicated slow cooker.
- Presets still demand the right liquid, release method and timing; expect a learning curve.
- The warranty is one year, and electronics or base faults are support cases, not repairs.

Pressure cooking and the kitchen workflow
Pressure cooking is the reason to own this machine. High pressure here tops out at 10.2–11.6 psi — lower than the roughly 15 psi of a stovetop cooker, which is normal for electric models. Brown food with the saute function, pressure cook in the same pot, and let Keep Warm hold dinner. The sterilize program is handy for utensils and bottles, but pressure-cooking specialists caution against treating it as a pressure canner for low-acid foods.
Sealing, venting and upkeep
The most repeated owner complaint is a unit that leaks steam or never quite pressurizes. The manual’s own troubleshooting list explains why: a worn or mis-seated sealing ring, debris, a dirty float valve, a warped pot rim or, rarely, a pressure-sensor fault. Rings are wear items that also absorb cooking odors, so keep spares and clean the float valve and anti-block shield. Lid consumables are easy DIY fixes; sensor and electronics faults go back to support.
Slow cooking and the other roles
As a slow cooker it divides owners: heat from the base alone cooks less evenly than a dedicated crock, so use it for convenience rather than excellence. Rice, yogurt, eggs and steaming fare better, and the Cake program exists mostly for fun. One verified owner notes the stainless exterior skirt dents easily — handle it accordingly.
Which model this is
This page covers the original 2017 Duo Plus 60, IP-DUO Plus60, sold under ASIN B01NBKTPTS: 6 quarts, 1000 W, blue LCD panel, manual steam release, 15 programs. It is not the later V2/V3 hardware and not the WhisperQuiet model — those add auto-seal, sous vide, anti-spin pots or quieter venting under overlapping listings. Confirm the control panel and the bottom UL/model label on arrival.
Is it worth it?
Buy it on sale. Used and open-box examples sit around $70 before shipping, against a historical list of about $129.95 to $139.99, and around $70 to $90 it is excellent value, $90 to $110 stays reasonable, and above about $120 compare the newer Duo Plus, WhisperQuiet and discounted Pro models. At a discount it is hard to beat as a known-brand, stainless-pot pressure cooker with a real ecosystem behind it; once it is priced near the current Duo Plus, WhisperQuiet or discounted Pro and Rio models, compare those first. Check the store panel above for current prices.
