Summary

A 1070 Wh LiFePO4 power station that stays light for its class at 23.8 lbs, with 1500 W output, a one-hour emergency charge and UPS backup. Check two things before you buy: it has only three AC outlets and takes just 400 W of solar, so it is not the pick for high-draw appliances or big solar arrays.

Strengths

  • Light and compact for a 1 kWh LiFePO4 station, easy for one person to carry.
  • Quiet enough for overnight CPAP use, especially in Quiet Charging Mode.
  • The one-hour emergency charge works as advertised.
  • Good build quality; the folding handle does not rattle.
  • Simple controls and app, friendly to first-time power station owners.
  • Owners report strong CPAP runtime: about 10 hours on a ResMed 10 with 42% left.

Weaknesses

  • Slower standard charging than rivals: testing measured 563 Wh/hr against 1,097–1,229 Wh/hr for the Anker Solix C1000 Gen 2 and EcoFlow Delta 3.
  • Only three AC outlets, spaced tightly enough that bulky plugs crowd each other.
  • Solar input tops out at 400 W, below the 600–1000 W on competing stations.
  • Not expandable, with no wireless charging and no weatherproofing.
  • The 1500 W ceiling trips on high-draw appliances, with no load-lifting.
  • The LED is bright even on its lowest setting.

Capacity and charging

Jackery rates the battery at 1070 Wh, and testing backs it up. OutdoorGearLab measured 910 Wh of usable capacity, about 85% efficiency, WhichWatts measured 1006 Wh at a 300 W draw (94%) and 974 Wh at an 800 W draw (91%), and Business Insider measured about 90% of the stated capacity. Charging is where it trails. Jackery claims 0–100% in about 1.7 hours normally and about 1 hour in Emergency mode, and Business Insider measured about 90 minutes standard. OutdoorGearLab clocked only 563 Wh/hr, roughly two hours to full, against 1,097–1,229 Wh/hr for the Anker Solix C1000 Gen 2 and EcoFlow Delta 3.

Outlets, solar and expansion

Three AC outlets share one tight panel, and reviews note that bulky laptop chargers or camera packs make using all three at once awkward. Solar input maxes out at 400 W through two DC8020 ports, well under the 600–1000 W of competitors, and testing measured 178 W peak from a single SolarSaga 200 W panel, about 89% of its rating. Solar charging runs about 3.8 hours with two 200 W panels under ideal conditions. There is no battery expansion, no wireless charging and no IP rating. The 1500 W ceiling is hard: with no load-lifting, a draw over it trips the unit. One Trustpilot reviewer found the station worked poorly with non-Jackery panels.

Warranty and where to buy

The warranty is three years standard plus two more with registration, five years total, and it only covers units bought from Jackery directly, from Jackery-branded platforms or from authorized dealers. That last condition matters: one Reddit owner reports Jackery refusing warranty coverage for a unit bought from a non-authorized dealer, leaving a dead USB-C port with no recourse, and another describes a month-long support fight that ended in a $300 trade-in offer on a $1000 unit. These are individual cases, not a defect rate, but they make the dealer worth checking. The manual also asks you to charge the battery to full within seven days of purchase and at least once every three months after that.

Which model this is

This page covers the Explorer 1000 v2, model JE-1000D, the 2024 redesign of the original Explorer 1000. It moved from NMC to LiFePO4, raised output from 1000 W to 1500 W and cut emergency charging to about an hour. Jackery also sells the same unit as the “Solar Generator 1000 v2” with panels and markets it as “HomePower 1000 v2” for home backup. The black US Amazon variant is ASIN B0D7PPG25F. Don’t confuse it with the Explorer 1000 Plus (1264 Wh, 2000 W, expandable), the Explorer 1000 Pro or the original v1.

Is it worth it?

Pricing decides this one. Jackery lists it at $799, and Jackery direct has run $749–$989 with promotions and bundles; a bundle with one SolarSaga 200 W panel is about $1,299, and spare panels run $200–$500 or more. The station was reported at $469–$559 during 2026 sale events, which works out to roughly $0.44 per Wh. At $500 or less it is a strong buy for camping, short outages and backyard use. From $501 to $600 it is still good value if portability and simplicity matter more than features. The value narrows above that: from $601 to $700 compare the Anker Solix C1000 Gen 2 and EcoFlow Delta 3, and at full list price the slower charging, three outlets and limited solar input are hard to justify.
