Summary
A 6 L warm-and-cool-mist ultrasonic humidifier for large rooms, with a built-in humidity sensor, automatic control and a remote. Check two things before buying: it is bottom-fill, so every refill means flipping the tank, and the manual asks for purified water to avoid white mineral dust.
Strengths
- TechGearLab’s test reached 45% RH in about 30 minutes and up to 68% RH in its room, one of the strongest results in that group.
- The tested sample’s humidity display stayed within 1–2 percentage points of a separate sensor, and its automatic control worked.
- A physical remote adjusts speed, target humidity, the warm setting and the timer from bed, with no account or Wi-Fi needed.
- A relatively wide 3.25-inch tank mouth and few crevices near the transducer make cleaning easier than many ultrasonic designs.
- One unit covers both cool and warm mist, and there is no routine wick or filter to replace.
- Owners name exact-model units running for months or years without trouble, including a 2019 r/houseplants owner who liked the adjustable setpoint.
Weaknesses
- Every refill means lifting the 6 L tank, inverting it and opening a bottom cap; it is not top-fill.
- Levoit’s own pages conflict on runtime: up to 36 h in one spot, 50 h in another, and a reseller mirrors 60 h.
- Use under hard tap water can leave white mineral dust; the manual calls for purified or distilled water.
- The cleaning schedule is frequent: every 3 days, with a deeper clean every two weeks.
- The remote is the only control beyond the panel, and Levoit lists no standalone spare remote or price.
- Only the LV600S adds Wi-Fi and app control; the LV600HH has neither.
Verified specifications
| Model | Levoit LV600HH Hybrid Ultrasonic Humidifier; Walmart lists a white variant as LV600HH-RXW. It is not the Wi-Fi LV600S. |
|---|---|
| Humidification | ultrasonic, with selectable cool and warm mist; three mist levels, three warm-heating levels, a humidistat/Auto mode, a timer and display-off. |
| Tank | 6 L (1.5 gal) stated; the manual’s fill step gives a 5.6 L maximum, and the tank is bottom-fill. |
| Mist output | up to 300 mL/h cool and 500 mL/h warm. |
| Effective area | manufacturer claim 430–753 ft² (40–70 m²). |
| Power | 120 VAC, 60 Hz, 280 W rated. |

| Controls | front LED display for humidity and settings, plus a handheld remote rated up to 16 ft (4.8 m) and powered by a CR2025 3 V coin cell. |
| Connectivity | no Wi-Fi or app control on the LV600HH; the LV600S is the smart model. |
| Aromatherapy | a pull-out aroma box takes a few drops of essential oil on its pad only, never in the tank or base. |
| In the box | humidifier, remote, preinstalled CR2025, three aroma pads, three mineral-absorption pads, a cleaning brush and the manual. |
| Consumables | no replaceable water filter or wick; filtration is limited to the small mineral-absorption pads for the heating plate. |

Humidity control and output
TechGearLab’s independent test (published in 2017, updated in April 2022) raised its room to 45% RH in about half an hour and reached 68% RH, with the unit’s display within 1–2 percentage points of a separate sensor. A February 2025 owner comparing an LV600HH with another brand saw about a 10-point disagreement, so placement and calibration still matter. The rated maxima are 300 mL/h cool and 500 mL/h warm.
Warm mist, electricity and running costs
Warm mist takes about 15 minutes to feel warm. TechGearLab measured 0.015 kWh per operating hour (about 15 W) in its cost test; at 8 hours a day across 120 heating-season days that is 960 hours, or 14.4 kWh and $2.88 a season at an assumed $0.20/kWh. Using the 280 W nameplate as a constant load for the same 960 hours gives 268.8 kWh and $53.76, a planning figure rather than a measured warm-mode draw. Water adds more: 2 L a day for 120 days is about 63.4 US gallons, around $95 at an assumed $1.50 a gallon. Descaling pads run $14.99 for a 10-pack and should be changed about every 2–4 weeks.
Leaks, minerals and upkeep
The manual has a dedicated preventing-water-leaks procedure and says to stop using the unit if leaks continue; tank seating, mineral debris or filling the inner chamber can cause overflow. One November 2024 r/houseplants owner described a Levoit 6 L that leaked before two years, improved after a vinegar descaling, then leaked again a month later; that post does not confirm the full LV600HH model, so treat it as a 6 L-family caution rather than an exact failure rate. A December 2025 owner review describes one unit bought in 2022 working about three years before dark liquid leakage and heavy mineral buildup. Routine care means cleaning every 3 days and deep-cleaning every two weeks.
Which model this is
This page covers the LV600HH, the non-smart remote-controlled hybrid. The LV600S is a different 6 L unit with Wi-Fi, the VeSync app, voice control and a top-fill tank. The OasisMist 450S is a smaller 4.5 L top-fill smart model, and the Classic 300S is a 6 L cool-mist-only smart model with no warm heater.
Is it worth it?
At $70 or less the LV600HH is an attractive buy for its verified output. From $71 to $85 it is a good buy if bottom-fill is acceptable. From $86 to $100 it is fair, because Levoit’s own OasisMist 450S is $89.99 and the LV600S is $109.99. Above $100, compare the LV600S for top-fill and app control, or the Classic 300S at $71.99 from a $79.99 reference if you do not need warm mist. Levoit’s store lists the LV600HH at $99.99 and Walmart’s white listing at $89.95 (Levoit and Walmart, October 2026), though that Walmart unit was out of stock when checked.
