Summary

A full-size wired mechanical keyboard that trades features for a compact aluminum-and-PBT build. The Long Hua switches are its weak point, so try the feel before you buy.

Strengths

  • Compact and light for a full-size mechanical board, with a small desk footprint.
  • PBT keycaps that resist heat and wear.
  • Brushed aluminum top case gives a premium look for the price.
  • White LED lighting is less garish than the red backlight of the original G413.
  • A Logitech board at a low price for the brand.

Weaknesses

  • Long Hua tactile switches are stiff and loud to one reviewer and mushy to another.
  • Regresses from the G413 Carbon, losing its Romer-G switches, faceted keycaps, keycap puller and 26-key rollover.
  • No Logitech G Hub support: no macros, lighting customization or firmware updates.
  • No USB passthrough and no dedicated media keys.
  • No game mode, so the Windows key can minimize a game.
  • No wrist rest, and reviewers find the typing angle uncomfortable without one.

Switch feel and typing

The Long Hua tactile switches are the story. Tom’s Guide calls them stiff and uncomfortable, close to a Cherry MX Brown bump but hard to gauge, and louder than the original; a typing test landed at 111 WPM at 97% accuracy. PCMag calls the same switches mushy with middling actuation feel. Both reviewers treat the switch as a step down from the Romer-G units in the G413 Carbon. Gaming stayed responsive across the titles Tom’s Guide tested, including Age of Empires IV, Doom Eternal, Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen and Final Fantasy XIV, so the complaints are about feel rather than function.

Features and software

The board is plug-and-play. It has no Logitech G Hub support, so there are no macros, no lighting customization and no firmware updates through official software. Lighting is fixed white LED with brightness and a few patterns, and reviewers found only the plain on/off setting useful. There is no USB passthrough, and media controls sit on shared Fn keys rather than dedicated buttons. The 6-key rollover is a bare minimum next to competitors offering full N-key rollover, and the absence of a game mode means the Windows key can still minimize a game. The PBT keycaps and the brushed 5052 aluminum top case are the parts meant to last.

Support, warranty and repairs

Logitech’s support page for this model lists no downloads, no FAQs, no spare parts and no documents, so there is little official help and no user-replaceable parts channel. The specific warranty duration for the G413 SE is not published on its product page or in the reviews. Logitech’s general warranty terms are non-transferable and valid only for the original purchaser in the country of purchase; replacements carry the rest of the original term or 30 days, whichever is longer, and spare parts bought in the US carry a 30-day warranty. The original G413 Carbon shipped with a keycap puller and faceted keycaps; the SE does not mention either.

Is it worth it?

Logitech lists the G413 SE at $89.99 (Logitech, 2026). PCMag quoted an MSRP of $79.99 in 2022, and the tenkeyless G413 TKL SE is listed at $79.99 on Logitech’s site. At $60 or less the board is a reasonable budget pick for a compact full-size mechanical keyboard with PBT keycaps and an aluminum case. Between $61 and $80 the switch feel and missing features get harder to justify, and above $81 it competes with boards offering full N-key rollover, RGB and proper software support; both reviews point buyers to alternatives at similar or lower prices.

Which model this is

This page covers the Logitech G413 SE, model 920-010433, in Black with a US English QWERTY layout. It is not the original G413 Carbon, the G413 TKL SE or the rest of the G413 line; the SE is a distinct revision with different switches and fewer features. The Amazon listing is ASIN B08Z6X4NK3.
