Summary
A 2.4 GHz LIGHTSPEED wireless gaming headset for PC and PlayStation, built on the wired PRO X with the same 50 mm drivers and Blue Vo!ce microphone software. Check that you can live without a wired or Bluetooth fallback: it only works through its USB dongle and does not support Xbox.
Strengths
- SoundGuys measured 21 h 33 min of battery at about 75 dB, beating Logitech’s 20+ hour claim.
- Build quality earned 9.0/10 in SoundGuys testing, with no creaking hinges or rattling headband.
- Blue Vo!ce software turns the thin onboard microphone into something competitive.
- DTS Headphone:X 2.0 positions direction well in shooters, PCMag found.
- Comfortable for long sessions, with two earpad materials included.
- Runs on PC, PS4, PS5 and a docked Switch through one USB transmitter.
Weaknesses
- It only works through the USB LIGHTSPEED dongle, with no 3.5 mm wired mode or Bluetooth fallback.
- There is no Xbox support at all.
- The battery is not user-replaceable.
- The raw microphone is average: it drops off below 1000 Hz, so deep voices distort without processing.
- Out of the box the mic sounds thin and compressed until you tune it in G HUB.
- Bass is modest next to some rivals, and SoundGuys called it a little expensive for what it offers.

Full research notes and sources
Wireless only, and what that costs you
The headset talks to your machine only through its USB LIGHTSPEED transmitter. There is no 3.5 mm cable and no Bluetooth, so a dead dongle, a full battery, or a device without a free USB port leaves you stuck. It works with PC, PS4, PS5 and a docked Nintendo Switch, but not with Xbox. PCMag treated the missing wired option as a real drawback at launch.
Battery and charging
SoundGuys measured 21 h 33 min at about 75 dB, so Logitech’s 20+ hour claim holds up at normal listening levels and higher volume will cut it. Charging is over USB-C with no fast charging, and a full top-up takes about 2 hours. The battery is sealed in; when it wears out, the headset does not get a fresh one.
Microphone and the Blue Vo!ce software
The boom mic is removable, and its raw hardware is the weak spot. SoundGuys rated it 5.6/10 before processing, with a roll-off below 1000 Hz that makes deep voices sound distorted; PCMag heard it as thin and compressed out of the box. Logitech’s Blue Vo!ce software through G HUB is what fixes it, adding a broadcast EQ preset, de-esser, compressor, limiter and noise reduction. Without that tuning the mic is mediocre; with it, it holds up.
Fit, build and comfort
An aluminum fork and a steel-reinforced headband give it a solid feel — SoundGuys rated build quality 9.0/10 with no creaking in the hinges or rattling in the headband. At 370 g it is not light, but comfort scored 8.5/10, helped by memory foam earpads in leatherette and a spare set of velour pads. Isolation is average for a gaming headset at 3.9/10, so expect to hear some of the room.
Is it worth it?
At $130–160 it is a strong buy for PC and PS5 gamers who want wireless freedom and Logitech’s Blue Vo!ce ecosystem. At the $170–180 that Logitech’s own store lists the black model at, it is fair but faces newer headsets with Bluetooth, wired fallback and lower latency. Above $200 the value falls away, especially with the PRO X 2 LIGHTSPEED successor on the market. For reference, the launch price was $199.99 in August 2020, and SoundGuys listed $229.99 when they reviewed it in 2022.
