Summary
An ultra-slim robot vacuum and mop that cleans under low furniture and docks itself for mop washing, drying and dust emptying. Independent testing puts it at the top of hard-floor cleaning and obstacle avoidance, but pet hair on carpet is its weak spot.
Strengths
- RTINGS measured it clearing furniture with 8.0 cm of clearance, leaving 2 mm of margin.
- Hard-floor pickup is outstanding in RTINGS testing, including along wall edges and corners.
- Vacuum Wars gave it its mid-2025 obstacle-avoidance award and measured 0% hair tangling on a 7-inch test against a 39% average.
- The dock washes pads at 176°F/80°C, self-cleans, dries with 131°F air and dispenses detergent automatically.
- A one-year owner reported that battery life has been very good and never a problem.
- Mashable’s two-month tester reported the robot never got lost in a three-bedroom apartment.
Weaknesses
- RTINGS calls pet-hair pickup inadequate, saying the split brushroll does not agitate carpet fibers enough.
- Fine-debris pickup on carpet edges and corners is weak.
- Owners report navigation bugs, cable eating, no-go-zone violations and getting stuck.
- The 270 ml dustbin is small and fills quickly.
- Support friction appears in several threads, including a repair hold of two weeks or more.
- Wi-Fi is 2.4 GHz only.

Navigation and cleaning performance
The 10R’s reason to exist is height. At 7.98 cm it is the slimmest robot Roborock has shipped, and RTINGS measured it clearing furniture with 8.0 cm of clearance, leaving 2 mm. Instead of the retractable LiDAR tower used on the Saros 10, it uses StarSight Autonomous System 2.0: a dual-transmitter solid-state 3D Time-of-Flight system with a QVGA sensor sampling 21,600 points, 108 recognized object types and internal testing of objects as small as 2 cm. The body stores no images and carries TÜV Rheinland secure-smart-home certification.
Results split by surface. RTINGS calls the 10R the strongest hard-floor robot it has tested, with near-total removal along wall edges and corners, and Mashable’s two-month tester reported it never got lost while correctly identifying a cat tree, shoes, a bed and a live cat. Mopping is rated highly too. On carpet, and especially pet hair, the picture reverses: RTINGS lists inadequate pet-hair pickup as a con and TechGearLab scores pet hair 5.7 out of 10, while Vacuum Wars and Tom’s Guide report 92% and 99% on different loads and test setups. If you have a shedding pet and mostly carpet, treat pet hair as the known weak point.
The dock, parts and running costs
The dock washes mop pads and cleans its own tray with 176°F (80°C) water, dries pads with 131°F (55°C) air, dispenses detergent from a 590 ml reservoir and empties dust for a claimed 70 days. Roborock markets it as a 10-in-1 station, and RTINGS confirms the wash and dry temperatures. TÜV Rheinland tested over 99.99% removal of Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli at the dock in default mode.
Consumables are where the money goes. Roborock’s own store prices a replacement main brush at $22.99, a four-pack of rotating mop cloths at $39.99, a six-pack of dock dust bags at $25.59 and a 480 ml bottle of floor cleaning solution at $18.99 (Roborock, 2026). RTINGS estimates the scheduled parts alone at roughly $134 to $317 a year before filters, side brush and detergent, and calls the recurring cost high for the category. The extended warranty is $89.99 for one year or $129.99 for two (Roborock, 2026). Electricity is minor: 50 kWh a year costs about $9.16 at the July 2026 US average of 18.31 cents/kWh (EIA).
Owner reports and reliability
Owner threads are mixed, and the complaint clusters are consistent. Vacuum Wars’ aggregation of 108 complaint instances puts navigation and mapping first at 31%, poor pickup at 23%, threshold climbing at 15.9% and hardware faults or error codes at 13.3%; most navigation complaints date from February and March 2025, and some owners saw large improvements after firmware updates. Individual reports include a dock suction failure within a month, a side-brush motor failure within a month, a robot that eats cables and ignores no-go zones, and support that went quiet for two weeks or more. One owner reported repeated Error 164 faults followed by a paid repair estimate after the warranty ended. Praising threads confirm good battery life, strong mopping and reliable navigation. The 270 ml dustbin fills quickly, and RTINGS saw it begin to overflow around 250 ml.
Is it worth it?
Roborock launched the 10R in the US on 2025-02-10 at $1,599.99, and 2026 discounting took it to $884.99 (Roborock, 2026). Below about $900 it is one of the most well-evidenced premium robots available, with the hard-floor pickup and obstacle avoidance to justify it. At or near list it competes with newer models such as the Saros 20, which adds suction, mopping pressure and pet-hair performance. Factor in the one-year warranty and the 2.4 GHz-only Wi-Fi before checkout.
Which model this is
This page covers the black Saros 10R, which Roborock offers only in black, with the Multifunctional Dock 4.0. It is not the Saros 10 with its retractable LiDAR tower, nor the plumbed Refill and Drainage System variant, nor the Qrevo Slim. Published numbers differ between US and non-US pages: suction is listed at 20,000 Pa by Roborock’s launch release and 22,000 Pa by some US retail listings, and mop lift is 17 mm on the US page against 22 mm globally.
The Amazon listing is ASIN B0DHCJ571Z.
