Summary

An 11-inch Android tablet for streaming, browsing and light family use, sold as 6 GB RAM with 128 GB storage and backed by seven years of software updates. Before you buy, know that the TFT LCD has weak contrast and visible pixels, and Samsung does not include a charger in the box.

Strengths

  • Seven years of OS updates, rare at this price and the main reason to pick it.
  • Battery comfortably lasts a full day, with 8-10 hours of streaming in tests.
  • Bright screen with reduced glare that stays usable outdoors.
  • Everyday performance is reliable, and the GPU is a clear jump over the older Tab A9+.
  • Keeps a 3.5 mm headphone jack and a microSD slot in 2025.
  • Aluminum chassis with a clean matte finish.

Weaknesses

  • TFT LCD has weak contrast, visible pixels and middling viewing angles.
  • Cameras are poor; reviewers call the 8 MP rear and 5 MP front “truly terrible”.
  • No fingerprint sensor, which is expected on a tablet at this price.
  • No S Pen support, and no official keyboard cover after the pogo pins were removed.
  • Speakers are loud but lack bass and clarity.
  • No charger in the box, so budget for a 25W USB-C adapter.

Battery life and charging

Samsung claims up to 15 hours of video playback. Independent tests are more grounded: MyNextTablet measured 8 hours 10 minutes of YouTube HD streaming at maximum brightness, and Pocket-lint reported about 10 hours of mixed browsing and YouTube. With a 25W adapter the tablet reached 40% in 30 minutes and a full charge in about 90 minutes.

There is no charger in the box, only a cable, so budget at least $15-25 for a 25W USB-C PD unit if you do not already own one (Samsung US).

Display and build

The 11-inch panel runs at up to 90 Hz, and Consumer Reports found it very bright with reduced glare. The trade-off is a budget TFT LCD: lacking contrast, light pixelation, middling viewing angles and colors that look washed out, with edges that appear noticeably dimmer. MyNextTablet measured 480 nits peak brightness and noted visible pixels on close inspection. The chassis is aluminum with a matte finish, and the tablet keeps the same dimensions as the two-year-old Tab A9+.

Performance and gaming

The MT8775 chipset handles browsing, email and multitasking well, with only slight stutter when switching apps. Benchmarks show a real gain over the A9+: Geekbench 6 multi-core is roughly 50-55% faster, and 3D Mark Wildlife Extreme shows a 150% lead that matches the Galaxy Tab S10 Lite. Gaming is playable — Fortnite runs at 45-55 FPS on low settings, Minecraft at 60 FPS in performance mode, and Roblox without trouble. Do not expect more than light gaming.

Software support and value

The headline feature is seven major OS updates, exceptional for a budget tablet and the main argument for buying it over better-specced rivals. It ships with Android 16 and One UI 8. Against that, Samsung removed the pogo-pin keyboard connector the A9+ had, so there is no official keyboard cover, the tablet does not support the S Pen, and there is no fingerprint sensor.

There are no consumables to replace; the only upfront extra is a 25W charger. At around $200-230 it is good value for a media tablet with long software support; at $230-260 it is fair; above $260 the missing stylus, keyboard cover and fingerprint sensor make it hard to justify. Samsung US lists the 6/128 GB Wi-Fi model at $300, Pocket-lint reports a $250 retail price, and Tech Advisor put the UK 128 GB model at £249.
