Summary
Samsung’s largest Android tablet, built around a 14.6-inch AMOLED screen and an included S Pen, aimed at media and stylus work at a desk. Check your desk and your charger drawer before you buy: no power adapter is in the box, and at 1.53 lbs this is not a one-handed tablet.
Strengths
- The 14.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen is the largest in Samsung’s tablet line, with 1,600 nits peak brightness and an anti-reflective coating.
- PCMag’s battery rundown ran 11 hours 10 minutes; Android Police measured 14.5 hours of video playback.
- The S Pen is in the box and never needs charging.
- The Dimensity 9400+ handled 20 minutes of Asphalt Legends at 120fps with no dropped frames and only mild warmth.
- Seven years of OS and security updates is the longest support window for any Android tablet.
- IP68 water and dust resistance with an Armor Aluminum frame.
Weaknesses
- No charger in the box; you supply your own USB-C adapter for the 45W charging.
- At 1.53 lbs and 12.85 inches tall, one-handed use is impractical and portrait mode feels top-heavy.
- The under-display fingerprint sensor is slow and unreliable, and face unlock struggles because the front camera sits on the side in portrait.
- The four speakers hit 93.1dB but lack depth, and bass response suffers.
- There is no cellular variant; this tablet is Wi-Fi only.
- The cameras are basic compared to phones.

Performance and battery life
PCMag’s Geekbench 6 scores came in at 2,773 single-core and 9,091 multi-core, with 18,019 on PCMark Work 3.0 and 66 fps on GFXBench Aztec Ruins. Android Police’s 3DMark Solar Bay result was 11,585, roughly matching the smaller Tab S11. Gaming held up: 20 minutes of Asphalt Legends at 120fps produced no dropped frames and only mild warmth on the rear panel.
Battery life depends on the test. PCMag’s 1080p video streaming rundown at full brightness lasted 11 hours 10 minutes. Android Police measured 14.5 hours of video playback, with 4% drain per 30 minutes of YouTube at full brightness and 8% per 30 minutes of Asphalt 9: Legends.
Charging is quick with your own adapter. PCMag saw 19% in 15 minutes, 37% in 30 minutes and 100% in 1h 40m. Android Police measured 0-100% in about 1.5 hours.
Screen, speakers and stylus
The 14.6-inch panel is the draw: 2,960 × 1,848 resolution, 120Hz adaptive refresh, 1,600 nits peak brightness and an anti-reflective coating. PCMag praises the display quality and Android Police calls the massive screen great for video, though the front-camera notch can distract.
The speakers are loud but not rich. Android Police notes plenty of volume but lacking depth, with bass response that suffers; PCMag measured 93.1dB max volume.
The included S Pen is passive — no charging, no Bluetooth — a departure from earlier Samsung S Pens. Android Police found it comfortable and capable, though artificial feeling on screen. Samsung also dropped the S Pen’s wireless charging slot on this design.
Size, security and updates
At 8.21 × 12.85 × 0.20 inches and 1.53 lbs, this is a desk tablet. PCMag calls it big and heavy, and Android Police says it does not work well in portrait orientation because it is top-heavy.
Security is a weak point. The under-display fingerprint sensor is awkward to locate, slow and unreliable. Face unlock is problematic because the front camera sits on the side in portrait.
Samsung promises seven years of OS and security updates, the longest support window for any Android tablet, though that is a promise rather than a guarantee. The tablet ships with Android 16 and One UI 8.0.
Is it worth it?
Samsung’s US site lists the 512GB Wi-Fi model at $1,499.99, with the 256GB at $1,299.99 and the 1TB at $1,899.99. Android Police listed the 512GB at $1,319 in January 2026 and concluded the tablet is difficult to justify unless you specifically value the large screen. Samsung’s site also offers up to $345 in instant trade-in credit, or $240 off without a trade-in.
The extras add up. The Book Cover Keyboard Slim sells for $210, and no charger is in the box. Samsung covers the tablet with a 1-year limited warranty, and Samsung Care+ is available with accidental damage protection; service is limited to the country where the tablet was first sold.
The alternatives: the smaller Galaxy Tab S11 (11.0-inch, same Dimensity 9400+ chip) was on sale at $759.99, and the iPad Pro 13-inch (M4) lists at $1,299 with more power but no IP68 rating, no included stylus and no microSD slot. Tom’s Guide leaves the S11 Ultra out of its Samsung tablet picks, favoring the S10 FE Plus, the S11 and the S12 Ultra instead.
This tablet makes the most sense for someone who wants a large-screen Android tablet for video, stylus work and DeX productivity, and who will keep it on a desk.
