Problems, parts and running costs

Summary

A bagless self-emptying 2-in-1 robot that vacuums and sonic-mops hard floors, with 360 LIDAR mapping. Check whether it will clear your counters and furniture: the only published dimension combines the robot and its base, and owners of sibling units report a counter-clearance failure.

Strengths

  • Empties itself into a bagless base and needs no disposal bags.
  • 360 LIDAR mapping with app room selection, carpet zones and no-go zones.
  • Vacuums and sonic-mops hard floors in the same run, plus a Matrix Mop mode.
  • True HEPA base filtration and a washable pre-motor filter.
  • Owners praise the mapping, dock return and threshold handling.
  • A self-cleaning brushroll that is aimed at pet hair.

Weaknesses

  • No suction figure in Pa or watts is published for this model.
  • The only dimension figure is combined robot-plus-base, so clearance is unknown.
  • Owners of sibling units call it loud, and one reported weak hard-floor pickup.
  • One owner found it about a quarter inch too tall to fit under counters.
  • Reviewers consistently criticise the SharkClean app for lacking settings depth.
  • One owner reported it struggled to find its base and had to be placed in front of it.

Independent evidence is family-level

No measured test of RV2610WA itself was located. What exists covers other numbers in the Matrix line and should be read as family-level rather than exact-model evidence. RTINGS reviewed the Costco-only UR2360S and describes it as very similar to the standard Matrix with a dock. CGMagazine scored an earlier Matrix self-empty unit 8.5 out of 10 while flagging missing quality-of-life features. The Ambient scored the UK self-empty variant 3.5, criticised the app for having fewer settings than Roborock and Ecovacs, and described its mopping as manual module swapping. 9to5Toys found the earlier Matrix’s bagless base easy to empty but could not verify that unit’s capacity claim. Vacuum Wars reported strong crevice pickup against a Roomba i3+ and a strong carpet deep clean.

Noise, pickup and clearance in owner reports

Owner complaints cluster on a few practical points. Several owners describe the Shark as louder than their previous robots. One Costco buyer reported it picked up less from hardwood floors than their earlier machines. The same buyer measured the robot as about a quarter inch too tall to fit under their counters, leaving crumbs around the kick plates, which is an owner measurement rather than a manufacturer figure. Another owner reported it would not go under a bed because of the bed skirt, and one struggled to get it to locate the dock at the end of a run. These reports come from sibling units, so they are reasons to check your own floor type and counter clearance rather than proven defects of RV2610WA.

Mopping differs by market

Before reading any UK review, note that the mopping hardware is not the same across regions. The UK self-empty model requires manually swapping a vacuum module for a separate mopping unit with a 400 ml tank, according to The Ambient. Shark’s US page describes the RV2610WA sonic-mopping hard floors at the same time as vacuuming. The same product name covers two different mechanisms, so UK mopping findings should not be read onto the US unit without checking.

Running costs and warranty

The base is bagless, so there are no disposal bags to buy, and the pre-motor filter is washable rather than replaceable. The recurring consumables are floor cleaning solution and water for the mop, plus power. Replacement parts for RV2610WA, including the brushroll, mop pad, side brush and HEPA filter, could not be confirmed for availability or cost, and no long-term failure-rate data was found. The warranty is split exactly as Shark states it: 1 year on the product and 2 years on parts.

Which model this is

This page covers the Shark Matrix Plus 2-in-1 Robot Vacuum and Mop with XL HEPA Self-Empty Base, US model RV2610WA, sold under ASIN B0B8B6N2G4. Owners describe several retailer-specific numbers, including UR2360S, UR2350AE, RV2300S, RV2320S and AV2310AE, as the same robot in different colours with different bin sizes, but Shark has not confirmed that equivalence, so treat them as related rather than identical. The RV2610WD and XDRV2600WA are separate variants.
