Summary
The Soundcore C50i is a 5.5 g open-ear clip-on earbud with LDAC, Bluetooth multipoint and physical buttons, built for people who find in-ear buds uncomfortable. Check the open-ear trade-off before you buy: sound leaks out at roughly half volume, and there is no noise cancelling.
Strengths
- At 5.5 g per earbud, owners say they forget they are wearing them.
- Call quality draws the most praise; one owner says it matches or beats $200 earbuds.
- Physical buttons give clear feedback and are easier to hit than touch controls mid-run.
- LDAC support at this price is rare, and Soundcore does not even advertise it on the US page.
- The Soundcore app adds EQ, AI translation and 60-plus soundscapes with no subscription.
Weaknesses
- The open-ear design leaks sound; GIGAZINE measured audible leakage at about half volume face-to-face.
- There is no noise cancelling — the AI noise reduction works only on the call microphones.
- Some owners report 4–5 h of playback instead of the claimed 7 h.
- Maximum volume falls short in noisy places, per owners and Scarbir’s testing.
- The plastic case feels cheap and hollow, and scratches easily.
- Highs turn sharp at the highest volumes, and the out-of-box tuning sounds thin until you EQ it.

Sound and calls
Scarbir.com’s test (published 2026-02-24) found clear sound with the treble more forward than the lows, natural center mid-tones, and highs that go sharp at top volume. GIGAZINE’s hands-on review (2026-04-18) confirmed the 12 mm driver and SBC/AAC/LDAC support, and measured leakage: at roughly half volume, audio carries to someone standing face-to-face, which rules out crowded trains. Owners on Reddit describe the out-of-box tuning as “cardboard-y” until EQ, then “surprisingly good.” Call quality is the most repeated compliment in r/soundcore and r/Earbuds; one owner says calls sound “the same as or better than $200 earbuds.” GIGAZINE also reports that the C50i needs a firmware update on first use — a few minutes with the earbuds out of the case and within 0.5 m of the phone.
Fit, comfort and controls
The FlexiClip bridge is memory titanium with a skin-friendly coating. Scarbir found the clamp noticeable for the first few minutes, then forgettable, with a sturdy fit for runs and workouts; the buttons are easy to operate for pause, tracks and volume, with great feedback. Soundcore’s SweatGuard technology is aimed at workouts and rain. Some owners say the clip occasionally slips and needs adjusting, and one reported connection instability.
Battery and charging
Soundcore rates the C50i at 7 h per charge and 28 h with the case for music, 4.5 h and 18 h for calls; 10 minutes on the cable adds 2 h of playback. The 7 h figure is a lab result — some r/soundcore owners report 4–5 h in daily use, and Scarbir called 7 h “a little on the lower side” while still usable. There is no subscription and the app is free; no replacement parts are sold for this model yet.
Is it worth it?
At BH Photo’s $39.99 for the black model (October 2026) the C50i is strong value: call quality, LDAC and the app stand out near that price. Soundcore US sells it at $69.99, on sale from $99.99, which is fair value; at the full $99.99 it is weak, facing pricier clip-ons with better comfort and sound. Best Buy lists the white model at $199.00, down from $299.00, a figure that looks like a bundle or pricing error rather than the real street price. One Reddit owner paid $56 CAD. The QCY C50 at $35 and the Moondrop Pill at $40 are the price rivals to watch; Scarbir calls the C50i a solid choice for clip-ons under $50.
Which model this is
This page covers the Soundcore C50i, model D1101, released in February 2026. The US comes in black (D1101Z11) and white (D1101Z21); Japan adds off-white and light purple. The US Amazon listing is ASIN B0FKSV2GW2. Do not confuse it with the Soundcore AeroClip, the AeroFit, or the earlier C30i clip-on, which Scarbir says the C50i is a big step up from.
