Summary
A low-cost ANC earbud family that TOZO has revised repeatedly under the same NC9 name. Current specs list Bluetooth 5.3 and up to 18 hours per charge, while the older unit SoundGuys tested measured 6 hours 38 minutes with ANC on and is a different generation.
Strengths
- Strong low-frequency ANC for the price in SoundGuys’ independent test.
- Straightforward pairing on the tested unit.
- IPX6 earbud protection and an inexpensive price make it a plausible backup or gym pair if the fit is secure.
- The current page lists Bluetooth 5.3 and a long 18-hour/72-hour battery claim.
- Six ear-tip sizes help with fit.
- USB-C charging on the current revision.
Weaknesses
- The NC9 name spans revisions, so Bluetooth, battery and wireless-charging claims vary by generation and cannot be merged.
- SoundGuys measured 6 hours 38 minutes of ANC-on playback against TOZO’s then-claim of 10 hours.
- The tested tuning was heavily bass- and treble-forward, with audible ANC hiss and weak microphone noise handling.
- A 2026 owner thread reports new NC9 units that would not charge wirelessly despite the current page listing that feature.
- Inconsistent touch behavior and large housings were noted on the older unit.
- No independent current-revision ANC or battery measurement exists.

Revision drift is the core issue
The hardest part of evaluating the NC9 is version control. TOZO has kept the NC9 name while changing the Bluetooth, battery and feature specifications. SoundGuys tested the updated basic NC9 released in 2022, with Bluetooth 5.0-era hardware, while TOZO’s current page lists Bluetooth 5.3, a 9 mm driver and much longer battery claims. Older and current numbers must not be merged, and the seed title alone does not prove which hardware revision is being sold.
What the independent test shows
SoundGuys’ older test still gives design-level context. It found strong low-frequency ANC for the price but audible hiss, very bass- and treble-heavy tuning, average comfort, large housings, inconsistent touch behavior and weak microphone noise rejection. It measured 6 hours 38 minutes of continuous playback with ANC on against TOZO’s then-claimed 10 hours, and scored the unit 6.5 overall. Those are older-revision measurements and should not be treated as current-revision battery results.
Wireless charging needs a check
A 2026 owner thread reports two separate newly purchased NC9 units that would not charge wirelessly even though TOZO’s current product page lists wireless charging. That conflict may reflect variant or revision differences or product faults, and the evidence does not settle which. Buyers who need wireless charging should test it immediately. There are no routine consumables except optional replacement ear tips, and sealed battery degradation will determine long-term life; the earbuds and batteries are not documented as user-serviceable.
Which model this is
This page covers the NC9 only, and the NC9 family itself spans generations. Verify the exact revision before purchase, because the current manufacturer specifications differ materially from the older independently tested unit. The ASIN B085NPCQLT was not pinned down to a specific revision without using Amazon as a source.
