Problems, parts and running costs

Summary

The six-filter bundle of Veken’s PFC3V504 stainless fountain: a 3.2 L reservoir with 304-stainless water-contact parts, two flow modes, a water-level window and a replaceable pump. The extra filters are the only difference from the cheaper bundle, so check whether that premium beats buying replacement media separately.

Strengths

  • Stainless, large-capacity hardware: 3.2 L and 304 stainless water-contact parts are uncommon at this price.
  • Quiet running, simple disassembly and dishwasher-safe steel parts, per owner discussions and the listing.
  • Replacement pumps for Veken 50/95/108oz fountains and replacement filter packs are sold separately.
  • Six filters and six sponges delay the first accessory purchase.
  • Two flow options with a visible water level and an optional LED.

Weaknesses

  • It is the same PFC3V504 platform as the three-filter bundle, so there is no hardware benefit, and the pump, filter housing and internal connector hose remain non-steel.
  • The bundle premium is hard to justify when a separate four-pack of replacement filters costs less.
  • Maintenance is demanding: weekly cleaning, pump cleaning every one to two weeks, and filters every two to four weeks.
  • The listing dates to late 2025, so multi-year reliability is not established; one owner described the steel as thinner than expected and one commenter reported a leak, both isolated.
  • Low water, clogged media or a dirty pump can cause noise or weak flow.
  • Stainless does not make the fountain self-cleaning; hard water still leaves scale.

The bundle is the only difference

This is not a higher-end fountain. It is the same PFC3V504 108oz platform sold with six filters, six sponges and the usual accessories, so the hardware is identical to the three-filter version. That makes the purchase decision mostly about consumables.

Veken’s own math does not favour the six-filter box. The sibling three-filter fountain sold around $26.99–27.99 while an importer mirror tied to this listing showed about $39.98, so the six extra filters carry roughly a $12 premium. A four-pack of replacements costs about $10.99–11.99, which makes the three extra filters in the box worth well under the upcharge. Buy the bundle when its premium over the three-filter fountain is about $8 or less; around $12 it is marginal; above that, buy the cheaper fountain and add media separately.

Maintenance

Hygiene is the real ownership job. The filter needs changing about every two to four weeks, the pump wants disassembly and cleaning about every two weeks, and the fountain itself roughly weekly. Hard water still leaves scale, and filtered or softened source water is recommended. The stainless basin is easier to clean than plastic, but it is not self-cleaning.

Owner reports and reliability

Owner discussion and retailer reviews support quiet running, easy snap assembly and easier cleaning than older plastic fountains. The caution signals are the usual recirculating-fountain ones: biofilm or pink filter residue despite cleaning, mineral scale, and weak flow or noise when the water level drops or the pump and filter get dirty. One long-term owner still reported pink contamination after cleaning and replacing the pump. One commenter reported a sudden leak, and one described the steel as thinner than expected. No source establishes a defect rate for the exact model. A July 2026 owner notes a revised pump interface with an added rubber piece to improve alignment and flow.

Is it worth it?

Buy the six-filter box when its premium over the three-filter fountain is small, or when the spare media is genuinely useful to you. Otherwise buy the cheaper fountain and add replacement filters yourself. The stainless platform is sound; the bundle is the part to check.

Which model this is

This is the six-filter bundle of the Veken C1 Stainless 108oz, hardware model PFC3V504. The US listing is ASIN B0FPFZ3C5K. The three-filter fountain is the same platform, so the hardware should not be treated as a different design.
